The CMF Clip Pro is worth considering if you want earbuds that sit outside the ear canal, rather than sealing it. That open fit can feel less occluding and help you stay aware of nearby sounds, but it also means little isolation and some sound leakage. Whether it is a good buy comes down to how well the clip fits your ears, whether you like its controls and sound, and the price in your region.
What the CMF Clip Pro is—and what open-ear listening means
The CMF Clip Pro uses a clip-on, near-ear design. It does not plug or seal the ear canal, so ambient sound remains audible. That is useful when you want to hear more of your surroundings, but it is not a substitute for noise-isolating earbuds in a loud commute or other noisy setting.

Openness has a trade-off: sound can escape and be heard by people nearby, particularly at high volume. Nothing says its sound-leakage prevention feature can reduce leakage, but enabling it normally changes sound quality and volume. The company also says you can adjust the open earbuds’ angle to align the sound outlet with your ear canal. Nothing Support’s CMF Clip Pro guidance explains these points.

Reviewers generally found the clip secure or stable. RTINGS describes comfortable, stable fastening, and Picky Audio reports a secure fit. Those are individual reviewer impressions, not a guarantee: ear shape and tolerance for pressure vary, so a fit that works for one person may not work for another.

The design may suit listeners who dislike the plugged-up feeling of in-ear tips. For workouts, a secure fit is encouraging, but the available reviews do not establish that every wearer will find it comfortable or that it will stay put in every activity. The reported IP54 rating for the earbuds indicates dust and splash protection, not immunity to water damage; Picky Audio reports an IPX2 rating for the case.
Sound: spacious presentation, with uneven bass assessments
SoundGuys characterizes the Clip Pro as bright and spacious, with relatively light bass. Its reviewer found that bass enhancement could distort the sound, and that leakage prevention could make it sound muffled. Picky Audio describes stronger bass, but also notes distortion at higher volume with Bass Enhance enabled. These assessments differ, so listeners who prioritize deep, forceful bass should be cautious rather than assume the open design will deliver it.

Keep volume in mind for both sound and privacy. Higher levels can increase leakage to people nearby, while the manufacturer’s leakage-prevention setting may alter the sound. The two reviews’ differing impressions are a reason to try the available sound modes at a moderate volume before settling on a setting.
Controls, connectivity and calls
Reviewers report physical controls on the earbuds and a dial on the charging case, a useful combination if you prefer tactile input to tapping a touch surface. SoundGuys notes that some controls and features require configuration in the companion app.

The reviews report Bluetooth 5.4, LDAC support and Bluetooth multipoint, which lets the earbuds connect to two devices at once. Picky Audio lists SBC, AAC and LDAC support. Nothing’s product page also promotes Hi-Res Audio and LDAC. Codec support alone does not guarantee a particular sound quality: the source device and listening setup matter.
Call performance is less settled in the cited reviews, which give mixed assessments of microphone noise rejection. If calls in noisy places are central to your use, the available evidence does not justify treating the Clip Pro as a dependable noise-filtering headset.

Battery life varies by reviewer and test
Battery results are not identical across independent reviews. SoundGuys measured nine hours with LDAC enabled in its testing; RTINGS reports a little over six hours in its comparison. Picky Audio estimates around ten hours from the earbuds. These figures reflect different review methods, not a promised runtime for every listener.

SoundGuys also describes 32.5 hours of playback including the case and reports four hours of playback from a ten-minute charge. Treat those as figures reported in that review, rather than guaranteed results under every codec, volume level or use pattern. Picky Audio reports that the case does not support wireless charging.

Price and value depend on where you shop
Price references differ by source and date. Nothing’s US product page displayed $99 when accessed on October 7, 2026; SoundGuys’ review, published August 19, 2026, listed $79 as the original price. These are not a single current worldwide price, and neither establishes what you will pay today. Check the listing for your region before deciding whether the open fit and feature set justify the price.
SoundGuys disclosed that the company supplied its review unit. Picky Audio disclosed affiliate monetization. Their fit, sound and battery observations should be read as those reviewers’ findings, not as universal outcomes.
How it stacks up against other open-ear options
RTINGS places the CMF Clip Pro alongside the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, SoundPeats PearlClip Pro and Shokz OpenDots 2. That establishes them as relevant alternatives to consider, but the available evidence here does not provide a like-for-like comparison of their prices, battery tests, microphone performance, codecs or charging features. Compare those details using current regional listings and reviews rather than assuming one model is better from the Clip Pro’s specifications alone.
