Start by checking the response and the exact URL
Send the complete URL, including its path and query string, and percent-encode it as Screenshot Machine recommends. If the result looks like an error image, inspect the X-Screenshotmachine-Response header before treating that image as the target website. - Check for a missing scheme such as

The API documentation gives a width range of 100–1920 pixels and a height range of 100–9999 pixels or full. Match the dimensions to the browser view you are comparing against; an image with a different width can trigger different responsive breakpoints.
Give delayed content time to appear
Pages that load images, animation, or client-rendered content after the initial response may be captured before they settle. Increase the API’s delay and compare results. The API lists delay settings from 0 through 10,000 milliseconds, with a 200 ms default; for a long full-page capture, its documentation suggests considering 2,000 ms or more (API parameter reference, accessed 2026-10-03). The online generator describes its delay control in seconds and gives it a two-second default, so do not assume its default is the API default (online generator, accessed 2026-10-03).

For a full-page result, set the height to full. Longer pages with images or animation can need more time than a short page. Increase delay in measured steps and check whether the missing content appears; a longer wait will not resolve a block, authorization failure, or regional restriction.

Change one request-state setting at a time so you can identify what affects the result:
