To bookmark a page in Chrome on Android, open it, tap More beside the address bar, then tap Add to bookmarks. Find saved pages under More > Bookmarks, where you can search, sort, group, move, edit, or delete them. The bookmark bar and keyboard shortcuts described below apply to Android tablets, not as universal phone controls.
How to save a bookmark in Chrome on Android
- Open the webpage you want to save in Chrome.
- Tap More beside the address bar.
- Tap Add to bookmarks.
Chrome saves the page as a bookmark. Whether it is stored only on the device or in a Google Account depends on your sign-in state and account settings.

Where to find and open your bookmarks
- Tap More > Bookmarks.
- If Chrome’s address bar is at the bottom of the screen, swipe up on the bar first, then tap Bookmarks.
- Open the folder containing the page and tap its bookmark. Use Search your bookmarks to look for a particular item.

How to edit, move, or delete a bookmark
Edit a bookmark
In the bookmark list, tap More beside the bookmark and choose Edit. Make the changes and save them.

Move a bookmark to a folder
- Tap More beside the bookmark.
- Choose Move to… and select a folder.
- Tap Move here.
Delete a bookmark
Tap More beside the bookmark and choose Delete. Google warns: “Once you’ve deleted a bookmark, you can’t get it back.” Treat deletion as permanent; Google’s instructions do not describe a trash folder or recovery option. See Google’s Android bookmark instructions and its bookmark management help.
Organize bookmarks with folders, sorting, and views
Create a folder
Open More > Bookmarks and tap Create new folder. Folders appear at the top of the bookmark list, so they can provide a structure for grouping related pages.

Choose a useful order
Chrome offers manual order, newest, oldest, last opened, A to Z, and Z to A. To rearrange items manually, touch and hold a bookmark and drag it up or down. Use manual order when you want to place items yourself; choose a date, last-opened, or alphabetical sort when you want Chrome to arrange them by that criterion.

Choose how the list looks
The visual view displays bookmark images, while compact view displays bookmark icons. These are display choices; they do not change the bookmark’s destination or folder.

Keep bookmarks available across devices
Google says that when you are signed in to Chrome, new information such as bookmarks is saved in your Google Account and can be used on devices signed in to that account. When you are signed out, bookmarks and other information are saved only on that device. Availability on another device therefore depends on signing in to the relevant account and the selected account settings; do not assume every bookmark is automatically shared everywhere.

With an external keyboard connected to an Android tablet, Google documents these shortcuts:

Google notes that some desktop interactions—such as certain drag, hover, side-panel, and menu behaviors—are not available in the Android tablet interface. Tablet instructions and shortcuts are in Google Chrome Help.
Bookmarks and Reading list are different
Regular bookmarks are saved pages organized in the bookmark list and folders. Chrome’s Reading list is a separate feature for pages saved to read later or offline, found at More > Bookmarks > Reading list. Use the Reading list when your goal is deferred or offline reading rather than organizing a page among regular bookmarks. Google describes it in Chrome Help for Reading list.
