You can remove a ringtone you added to a Samsung phone from the ringtone list, but Samsung says built-in standard ringtones cannot be deleted. To stop hearing a built-in tone, select a different one. Menu names and available options vary by Galaxy model and software version.
Remove a ringtone you added
Samsung’s documented removal steps are for a previously added ringtone. On the models and software covered by its Russian support page, use this route:

- Open the Phone app and tap the three-dot menu.
- Tap Settings, then Ringtone and call alerts, and Ringtone.
- Find the added track in the list and tap the minus control beside its name.

Can you delete a built-in Samsung ringtone?
No. Samsung says standard ringtones cannot be deleted using this method. If you do not want one to play, choose another ringtone instead. The distinction is between a tone supplied with the phone and an audio track you added: the documented minus control applies to added tracks, not standard tones.

Replace the ringtone for incoming calls
To change the default call sound rather than remove a custom track, open Settings > Sounds and vibration > Ringtone, then select an available tone. Samsung’s US guidance describes choosing a preloaded tone or adding an audio file stored on the device. Streaming-service tracks cannot be selected through that documented ringtone flow. If the same sound still plays
The default call ringtone is only one place a sound can be assigned. If a particular sound continues, check whether it is set for an individual contact or is an app or message notification; those settings are separate from the default incoming-call ringtone. If your goal is to add a different custom ringtone
Samsung’s documented setup uses an audio file stored on the phone; a track available only through a streaming service is not selectable through that flow. Samsung UK lists MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC as supported formats and says M4A files need conversion. These file details apply to adding a tone, not to removing one. If the ringtone problem is that you hear nothing
Deleting or changing a tone will not resolve every silent-phone issue. Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking ringtone volume and settings such as Do Not Disturb, Airplane mode, and Modes and Routines when a ringtone is not audible.
