Samsung Music Share lets a friend use a Bluetooth audio device that is already connected to your Galaxy phone, so you can share a speaker without unpairing it first. It is a built-in connection-sharing feature—not a way to transfer music files, and not a reason to buy new audio gear. The feature is available only on select Galaxy devices; menus and compatibility vary by model, software, and region.

The speaker-sharing flow is not a promise of independent, simultaneous playback from both phones: the Galaxy S23 manual says that when music is played from the friend’s phone through the shared speaker, music playing from the host phone pauses. The documented listen-together flow is specific to the Galaxy Buds series in that manual; do not assume other Bluetooth earbuds support it. How to use Music Share with a Bluetooth speaker
Both phones need Music Share, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth turned on for Samsung’s documented setup. The speaker must already be paired to and connected with the host phone. The steps below follow Samsung US support guidance; the exact labels can differ by model and software.

- On the host phone, prepare the speaker. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, then pair and connect the Bluetooth speaker if it is not already connected.
- Turn on Music Share on the host. Swipe down to open Quick settings and tap Music Share. If the tile is not visible, edit Quick settings to add it. You can adjust sharing settings, including how long a device stays connected after music stops.
- On the friend’s phone, turn on Music Share, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Open Bluetooth device search by touching and holding the Bluetooth icon in Quick settings. Scan if needed, then select the same speaker the host connected.
- Accept the connection if prompted. Tap Allow on the host if Samsung’s permission prompt appears. The friend can then play music through the shared speaker.

How to listen together through Galaxy Buds
The Galaxy S23 series manual documents a separate flow for sharing music through the host’s Galaxy Buds and a friend’s Galaxy Buds. On the friend’s phone, enable Music Share. On the host phone, open Media output, choose Music Share, and select the friend’s Buds; the friend then accepts the request. This described Buds flow is for the Galaxy Buds series, not a general guarantee for any Bluetooth earbuds.
Where to find Music Share
Start in Quick settings: swipe down and look for Music Share, adding the tile through the edit controls if necessary. Samsung India also documents this Settings path: Settings > Connected devices > Music Share. There, its guidance says users can adjust sharing devices, connection permissions, and disconnection timeouts. Why can’t I find Music Share?
- Check device support first. Samsung says Music Share works on select Galaxy devices. Its current US setup page directs readers to a separate compatibility list rather than stating universal model support. If the feature is absent from Quick settings and Settings search, verify your phone model and software with Samsung support.
- Check Quick settings and Settings. Edit the Quick settings tiles, then search Settings for “Music Share.” Samsung India’s documented route is Settings > Connected devices > Music Share, but labels can vary.
- Check both phones’ connections. Make sure Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Music Share are enabled on both supported phones.
- Check the audio device and selection. For speaker sharing, the speaker should be connected to the host before the friend searches, and the friend must select that same speaker.
Samsung Canada’s support page, last updated October 5, 2020, listed S20, Z Flip, Note10, Fold, and S10 series for phones sold in Canada at that time. That historical regional list is not a current worldwide compatibility guarantee; Samsung cautions that availability and settings vary by country. Permission prompts and privacy
Accept a connection only when you expect it. Samsung’s documented flows include a host permission prompt for speaker sharing and acceptance steps in the S23 manual; Samsung India says sharing permissions and timeouts can be adjusted. Turn off Music Share or change its sharing controls when you are done.

Samsung Mobile Press reported that Music Share searches between the two phones and described personal information as encrypted with a unique key generated for each smartphone.
