These figures come from separate manufacturer and review sources, not a same-condition comparison. Display brightness methods can differ, and a stated peak does not mean that brightness is sustained. Refresh-rate behavior may also depend on content and settings. Likewise, processor names and camera megapixels alone do not establish speed or photo quality.

Which has the bigger battery, and which charges faster?
Xiaomi lists a 10,000mAh typical-capacity battery and 100W HyperCharge for the Redmi, compared with TechRadar’s 4,900mAh and 45W wired-charging figures for the Galaxy. Those specifications give the Redmi the advantage in stated capacity and maximum wired charging wattage, but they do not prove how long either phone lasts in everyday use or how quickly it refills in real conditions.

TechRadar also reports 15W wireless charging for the Galaxy. Xiaomi’s cited specifications list wired charging and up to 27W wired reverse charging, not wireless charging.
How do the cameras differ?
The Galaxy’s listed rear setup includes a dedicated 8MP 3x telephoto camera alongside its 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide cameras. Xiaomi lists a 50MP OIS main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide; its cited specifications do not list a dedicated telephoto lens. Xiaomi lists a higher-resolution 32MP front camera, while TechRadar gives the Galaxy a 12MP front camera. Resolution and lens count describe hardware, not a reliable ranking of image quality.

On October 4, 2026, a Smartprix comparison search-result snapshot showed ₹69,999 for the Galaxy S26 FE and ₹55,999 for a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G result labeled 12GB. Subtracting those displayed prices gives a ₹14,000 gap, with the Galaxy listing higher. Smartprix is a third-party comparison source; these figures are not official prices, and the result does not establish that the storage, seller, warranty, or promotions are equivalent. Check the live listings before buying.
For context only, TechRadar reported that the Galaxy first went on sale on September 4, 2026, at launch prices starting at $699, £699, or AU$1,149 for 128GB. It reported the 256GB model at $799, £799, or AU$1,299, and a 512GB model for the UK and Australia, but not the US. These are reported launch prices in different markets, not current Indian offers or a like-for-like Redmi comparison.

Does the Redmi include a charger?
Package contents vary by region. Xiaomi India lists an included 100W charger and protective case. Xiaomi UK says a power adapter is not included and recommends a compatible 100W PD adapter or Xiaomi’s own 100W adapter. Check the listing for the country where you are purchasing rather than assuming the India bundle applies elsewhere.

Which phone suits which buyer?
Consider the Galaxy S26 FE if
- You want a dedicated 3x telephoto camera in addition to wide and ultra-wide cameras.
- Wireless charging is important to you.
- The Galaxy’s reported software commitment of seven generations of Android and seven years of security updates suits your priorities.
Consider the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G if
- You prioritize the larger stated battery, higher maximum wired charging wattage, or larger, higher-resolution listed display.
- You want wired reverse charging, which Xiaomi lists at up to 27W.
- You have confirmed the local price, storage configuration, charger contents, warranty, and network-band compatibility for your market.
These are specification-based trade-offs, not results from a direct comparative review or shared battery, camera, or performance test. For the Redmi, regional details also differ: Xiaomi’s India page lists 8GB or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, while its UK page lists 8GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage. Check the exact local variant and network bands before ordering.

Xiaomi describes Underwater Mode as a camera feature, not an extension of the phone’s water resistance. Its global product information limits underwater use to static freshwater up to 2m for 30 minutes, excludes seawater, pools, and hot water, and recommends a professional waterproof case.
