Which phone is easier to handle?
The S23 FE is the more compact choice: it is 4 mm shorter and 0.8 mm narrower than the S24 FE. It is also 4 g lighter. The S24 FE is 0.2 mm thinner, but its larger body and screen may be more noticeable in one-handed use or a pocket. Choose based on the dimensions that matter to you, rather than assuming the smaller phone is automatically comfortable for every hand.

How different are the displays?
Samsung lists the S24 FE with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, compared with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display on the S23 FE. Both are listed at FHD+ resolution (2,340 × 1,080). The comparison gives adaptive refresh ranges of 48–120Hz for the S24 FE and 60–120Hz for the S23 FE. These are regional comparison-page specifications; verify the exact model sold in your market.
The larger panel is the clearest reason to favor the S24 FE if you watch video, read, or play games on your phone. The shared listed resolution means the S24 FE’s main display advantage here is size and its 2X designation, not a higher pixel count.

Does the S24 FE have better battery life?
Samsung lists typical capacity at 4,700mAh for the S24 FE and compares it with 4,500mAh for the S23 FE. That is 200mAh more capacity on paper, but capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts in real-world use. Screen settings, apps, network conditions, and usage patterns affect endurance, and the available specifications do not provide a controlled head-to-head battery result.

Samsung says the S24 FE can reach up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes using a 25W adapter and a 3A USB-C cable. Samsung notes that the 25W adapter is sold separately. This is a stated charging condition, not a promise that the adapter is included or that every charging setup will achieve the same result.

Are the cameras different?
On paper, the rear-camera setups are broadly similar: both comparisons list a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera. Samsung specifies OIS for the S24 FE’s main camera and its telephoto camera, and lists 3× optical zoom for the telephoto. These specification listings do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; that would require comparable testing under the same conditions.
What is the price difference?
Samsung announced a US starting price of $649.99 for the S24 FE on September 26, 2024. That is historical launch pricing, not a current price. The available information does not establish today’s price for either model or a present-day price difference.

For a useful comparison, check listings in the country where you plan to buy and match storage capacity, phone condition, seller, carrier status, and any trade-in or promotional terms. A carrier discount or trade-in can change the amount you actually pay, so an advertised starting price alone is not a like-for-like comparison.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the S24 FE if
- You want the larger 6.7-inch display.
- You prefer the Dynamic AMOLED 2X designation and the listed 48–120Hz adaptive refresh range.
- You value the higher stated typical battery capacity, while understanding that it does not guarantee longer runtime.
- You want the S24 FE’s listed 3× optical telephoto specification with OIS.
Consider the S23 FE if
- You prefer a shorter and narrower phone with a 6.4-inch display.
- You find a lower local price for the storage and condition you want.
- The S24 FE’s larger body is a drawback, and the listed camera arrangement and FHD+ resolution meet your needs.
Check the regional model before buying
Processor, storage, color, network bands, and availability can differ by country or carrier. Samsung’s US announcement identifies the S24 FE processor as Exynos 2400e, but that should not be generalized to every market or used to infer a universal S23 FE processor. Confirm the exact model number and local specifications with the seller or Samsung’s regional product information.
