At Samsung India’s launch prices, the M56 was INR 3,000 cheaper at each matching storage tier—but those dated, promotion-linked prices are not current quotes.

Samsung India announced the A35 prices on 14 March 2024 and the M56 prices on 17 April 2025. The offers were described differently, and neither figure should be treated as today’s price. Current prices, stock and availability were not established here; compare live listings for the same storage tier, seller and region before buying.
Display and handling: M56 is lighter, A35 is slightly narrower
The M56 has the larger listed display at 6.7 inches versus 6.6 inches, with both specified at FHD+ and 120Hz. Its body is 7.2mm thick and weighs 180g; the A35 is 8.2mm thick and 209g. The A35 is marginally narrower at 78.0mm compared with the M56’s 77.3mm, while the M56 is marginally taller at 162.0mm versus 161.7mm. Camera differences: choose features, not megapixel counts
The A35’s listed rear setup spells out three focal roles: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro. Samsung’s M56 launch release advertises a 50MP OIS triple rear camera, but does not specify the other rear sensor resolutions in the cited material. The A35 therefore has clearer published detail for ultra-wide and close-up options.
For selfies, Samsung advertises a 12MP HDR front camera on the M56 and lists a 13MP front camera for the A35. The M56 launch materials also promote 4K 30fps 10-bit HDR video, Portrait 2.0 with 2× rear zoom and AI editing features. Samsung’s A35 materials list UHD 4K 30fps recording and describe 4K stabilization and AI camera features. These feature lists do not establish which phone takes better photos or video; that would require controlled side-by-side testing.

The M56 also has LPDDR5X memory and a vapor cooling chamber according to Samsung’s launch release. These are specification differences, not proof of a particular speed advantage in everyday use: no independent benchmark comparison is established here.

Both phones have a stated 5000mAh battery capacity. Samsung lists 45W charging for M56 and 25W for A35, but no comparable battery-runtime test or charging-time result is available here. Samsung says the A35’s 25W wall charger is sold separately; the cited M56 information does not establish whether a charger is included, so check the box contents for the exact regional model.

Durability and support: A35 has the explicit IP67 claim
Samsung rates the A35 IP67 and describes resistance for up to 30 minutes in 1 metre of fresh water. Its launch material also identifies Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, and explicitly lists stereo speakers. The cited M56 launch material advertises Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back but does not establish an IP rating or a stereo-speaker claim. That absence is not evidence that the M56 lacks either feature; confirm details for the exact model if they are essential.
Software commitments favor the newer M56 on paper: Samsung announced six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates, with One UI 7 at launch. For A35, Samsung announced up to four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, and its March 2024 launch announcement identified Android 14 with One UI 6.1. Actual installed software depends on update history and region; announced policies do not guarantee delivery dates for a particular device.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the M56 if lower launch pricing at the same storage tier, lighter build, slimmer body, 45W charging, the newer announced chipset or the longer announced support commitment matters most. Verify its current local price and the exact features you require.
- Choose the A35 if an explicitly stated IP67 rating, stereo-speaker claim, or a clearly specified ultra-wide and macro camera setup is more important than the M56’s thinner, lighter design and higher charging specification.
- Compare current listings before deciding. Use the same country, storage capacity and seller basis, and check discounts, stock, model code, included charger and return terms. The India announcement prices above are historical launch figures, not a present-day price comparison.
