The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is the safer pick if long Android-version support matters most; the Nothing Phone (4b) has the stronger-looking hardware specification sheet in several areas. Neither is a proven overall winner: the available comparisons do not establish real-world performance or camera quality, and Nothing’s reported battery capacity conflicts across sources.

How the differences affect a buying decision
Display: nearly the same size on paper
The reported diagonals differ by only a small amount, and both screens are listed at 120 Hz. Samsung specifies Super AMOLED; the Nothing comparisons describe an AMOLED panel. Those labels and refresh rates do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use, so treat display quality as unresolved without direct testing.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesProcessor: a newer model number is not a benchmark
The Nothing is listed with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, while Samsung specifies Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. That makes Nothing’s chip the newer-numbered part in these reports, but it does not prove a particular speed, battery-efficiency or gaming advantage. No reliable comparative benchmark or hands-on performance result is established here.

Cameras: compare the hardware, not the megapixel totals
Samsung’s listed rear setup adds a 5 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro camera to its 50 MP OIS main camera. Nothing is reported with a 50 MP main and 8 MP ultra-wide; its listed 16 MP front camera also has a higher resolution than Samsung’s 12 MP unit. Megapixels and camera counts alone cannot determine image quality, and the available material does not establish a tested camera winner.
Battery: do not rely on an unverified Nothing capacity
Nothing Phone (4b) battery capacity is inconsistent across the cited comparison pages: 5,200 mAh at PhoneArena versus 6,000 mAh at 91mobiles and Gadgets 360. Confirm the official specification for your region before using capacity as a deciding factor. The secondary sources report 33 W wired charging for Nothing and 25 W for Samsung, but those figures do not establish charging times or battery endurance.

Support: separate Android upgrades from security updates
Samsung says the A27 5G receives up to six generations of Android/One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. Tech Advisor reports three Android-version upgrades and six years of security updates for the Nothing. The security-update duration is reported as equal; the stated Android-version upgrade commitment favors Samsung. These are distinct promises, so the six-year security term should not be mistaken for six Android upgrades.

| Europe, MSRP shown by PhoneArena | €349 for 6 GB/128 GB; €439 for 8 GB/256 GB | €329 for 8 GB/128 GB; the 256 GB listing is identified as India-only |

| India, 91mobiles Amazon listing snapshot | Approximately ₹33,999 when the page was accessed; volatile marketplace price | Approximately ₹32,244 when the page was accessed; volatile marketplace price |
The European MSRP figures are not a like-for-like memory comparison: the listed Samsung base configuration has 6 GB RAM, while Nothing’s has 8 GB. The UK starting-price comparison is more directly comparable on the reported 8 GB/128 GB configurations. India’s marketplace figures can change, so check the live listing and exact variant. Compare local prices for the same RAM and storage tier, including taxes and any offer, rather than subtracting figures from different countries.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A27 5G if Samsung’s published commitment of up to six Android/One UI upgrade generations is your priority, or you want official Samsung specifications for the display, processor, cameras and battery.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4b) if its reported 8 GB/128 GB configuration, newer-numbered processor, 8 MP ultra-wide camera or 33 W charging better fits your priorities—and you can confirm the local specification and price, particularly the battery capacity.
- Wait for verified comparisons if your choice depends on real-world speed, photo quality, screen quality or battery life. Tech Advisor’s July 8, 2026 article said thorough testing was still needed before reaching a solid conclusion; the available evidence does not establish an overall tested winner.
Durability ratings need a local specification check
Published comparisons conflict on the Galaxy A27 5G’s ingress-protection rating: PhoneArena lists IP64, while Gadgets 360 lists IP67. Those same comparison sources list IP64 for the Nothing Phone (4b). Because the A27 rating is inconsistent and the cited evidence does not resolve it through a local official specification, do not use an assumed A27 rating to decide which phone is more water- or dust-resistant.
