Choose the RTX 5070 Ti if demanding ray tracing, path tracing, or Nvidia’s DLSS features matter most; choose the RX 9070 XT if your games are mainly rasterized or benchmarks favor Radeon in the titles you play. Neither card wins every game. In TechSpot’s 22-game 1440p comparison, the GeForce led by just 2% with Quality upscaling, an average the publication described as essentially a tie. The practical choice comes down to your game library, settings, and current local price.
How the cards compare in games
Performance changes with the game and rendering mode, so a single overall winner can be misleading. TechSpot’s 2026 comparison tested 52 games and found results that reversed from title to title. These examples describe that test suite, not a guarantee for every system or game version.

Rasterized gaming
In games without demanding ray tracing, either card can come out ahead. TechSpot recorded RX 9070 XT leads in examples including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Final Fantasy XVI, Ghost of Tsushima, and Cities: Skylines II. The RTX 5070 Ti led in examples such as Crimson Desert, Warframe, Rust, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. See the TechSpot 52-game comparison for its test results and conditions.
Ray tracing and path tracing
Ray tracing shifts many results toward the RTX 5070 Ti in TechSpot’s tested configurations, but Radeon wins or ties in some cases. In that comparison, the GeForce led by 15% in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p and by 9% in The Witcher 3 at 1440p (6% at 4K). In F1 25, the reported lead was 20–24% in the cited configurations. With path tracing in Doom: The Dark Ages, the RTX 5070 Ti delivered nearly twice the Radeon result, although both cards struggled. By contrast, the RX 9070 XT led in the 1440p ray-tracing test for Resident Evil Requiem. These are game- and mode-specific benchmark findings, not universal performance ratios.
#1 Best Overall
- Axial-Fan Tech Built to Endure - Triple 90mm axial fans feature refined blades for up to 15% more airflow, counter-rotation to cut turbulence, and durable dual-ball bearings. Stealth Mode stops fans at low temps for silent operation, boosting card longevity and performance.
- Masterfully Crafted Cooling - Advanced vapor chamber and ultra-dense heatsink rapidly pull heat from the GPU, while an open aluminum backplate boosts airflow and ventilation, resulting in lower temperatures for stronger performance and stability in demanding workloads.
- Epic-X ARGB Lighting 2.0 - Craft your command center with Epic-X ARGB lighting. Fully customizable LEDs illuminate your graphics card, turning your setup into a radiant centerpiece and making your gaming space a true reflection of your style.
- VelocityX Software - Gain full control over your PNY graphics card to maximize its performance and Epic-X ARGB lighting. Fine-tune core and memory clocks, dial in custom fan curves, and monitor real-time temperatures and speeds, all from one intuitive interface. Save up to five profiles for instant recall.
- NVIDIA Blackwell Architecture - The Ultimate Platform for Gamers and Creators. Do it all with 5th-Gen Tensor cores for Max AI performance, new streaming multiprocessors that are optimized for neural shaders, and 4th-Gen Ray Tracing cores built for Mega Geometry.
What upscaling does to the gap
Upscaling renders the game at a lower internal resolution and reconstructs an image for the target display resolution. It can improve performance, but results depend on the game, the selected quality mode, and the upscaler.
In TechSpot’s separate 22-game 1440p comparison, the RTX 5070 Ti was 5% ahead at native rendering, but only 2% ahead with Quality upscaling; TechSpot considered the latter essentially a tie. The average gap was 3% with Balanced upscaling and 2% with Performance upscaling. Those averages reflect that review’s game selection, settings, hardware, and driver state. Results varied by title: FSR 4 scaled better in some tested games, while DLSS 4 did in others. See TechSpot’s upscaling comparison for the review’s methodology and individual results.
- Compare both cards at the same display resolution and named upscaling mode, such as Quality.
- Keep native-rendering results separate from upscaled results; they answer different questions.
- Check performance in the games you actually play. An average can obscure large title-specific differences.
Frame generation: count generated frames separately
NVIDIA lists DLSS Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation among the RTX 5070 Ti’s features. Its DLSS 4.5 documentation describes Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and up to 6X operation in compatible titles on RTX 50-series hardware. NVIDIA’s DLSS documentation says Multi Frame Generation can generate up to five frames per rendered frame on supported RTX 50-series and RTX PRO Blackwell-generation GPUs. These are vendor feature and compatibility claims; whether a game supports a feature depends on its implementation.
Rank #2
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
- Powered by GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- Integrated with 16GB GDDR7 256bit memory interface
- PCIe 5.0
- WINDFORCE cooling system
Generated output is not the same as conventionally rendered performance. When evaluating frame generation, consider the underlying rendered frame rate, responsiveness and latency, frame pacing, and image quality—not just the displayed FPS counter. The benchmark sources cited here do not establish a universal latency or perceptual-quality winner between frame-generation implementations.

NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 family specifications list 16 GB of GDDR7 memory and a 256-bit interface for the RTX 5070 Ti. Memory type or theoretical bandwidth alone does not determine gaming performance. Partner-board specifications can vary, so confirm the exact model before buying. NVIDIA’s U.S. product page displayed a $749 starting price when accessed in 2026; that is not a quote for all retailers or regions. AMD’s product page establishes the RX 9070 XT as a desktop graphics card, but the evidence available here does not provide a directly comparable live retail price.
- Compare current delivered prices in your region rather than relying on a starting price or launch-era figure.
- Check the exact card’s dimensions and power connectors against your case and power supply.
- Use the specific board-partner model’s specifications; do not assume every card with the same GPU has identical physical requirements.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the RTX 5070 Ti if
- You prioritize demanding ray tracing or path tracing, where the tested results often favored Nvidia.
- You want access to DLSS features, including frame generation where supported by the games you play.
- The RTX 5070 Ti is competitively priced against the RX 9070 XT in your local market.
Choose the RX 9070 XT if
- Your priority is rasterized gaming and your regular games perform well on Radeon.
- Your chosen games show an RX 9070 XT advantage in relevant, like-for-like tests.
- Its current delivered price makes it the better fit for your budget.
Make the comparison match your setup
- List the games you play most and identify whether you use raster rendering, conventional ray tracing, or path tracing.
- Find results at your target resolution and comparable settings; for upscaling, match the resolution target and quality mode.
- Assess frame generation separately from rendered performance, and check that the game supports the feature you want.
- Compare the current local prices and the exact board-partner models, including dimensions and connectors.
For a mixed library, the 52-game comparison is a useful starting point, not a substitute for checking your own titles. With Quality upscaling at 1440p, the reported average gap was close enough that game-specific results and local pricing are likely to matter more than the headline average.
