Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To disconnect a Roku TV from Wi-Fi, use Home > Settings > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection. The TV restarts, and you’ll need to set up Wi-Fi again before using internet features. Roku documents this network reset rather than a separate Wi-Fi off switch. (Roku Support)
Reset the Roku TV’s network connection
- Press Home on the Roku remote.
- Open Settings.
- Select Advanced system settings.
- Select Network connection reset.
- Choose Reset connection and let the TV restart.
This clears the network connection; it does not erase the TV’s settings as a factory reset would. To restore internet access, return to Settings and set up the wireless network again. Roku’s support steps describe this reset-and-reconnect process. (Roku Support; Roku Support UK, updated September 9, 2026)

Choose the right option for your goal
| Option | When to use it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Network connection reset | You want to clear the current network connection. | The TV restarts, and Wi-Fi must be set up again to use internet features. (Roku Support) |
| Set up a connection | You want to switch to another Wi-Fi network or use a wired connection. | Go to Settings > Network > Set up connection and follow the prompts. This sets up a connection; Roku does not describe it as a one-tap Wi-Fi disconnect. (Roku Support) |
| Hardware factory reset for unlinked mode | You specifically want to return a supported TV to initial setup and use it without linking it to Roku. | This is broader than disconnecting Wi-Fi. In unlinked mode, Roku streaming services and the Streaming Store are unavailable; the option to connect to the internet later is not available on every Roku TV system. What still works without an internet connection?
After initial setup, Roku says a TV can still be used with HDMI devices, cable TV, or over-the-air broadcasts. Streaming shows, apps, and other internet services need a network connection. (Roku Support; Roku Support)
Why not use the physical reset button?
A hardware factory reset is not the right shortcut if your only aim is to disconnect Wi-Fi. Roku describes it in connection with unlinked mode, and the reset-button location and form vary by TV. Some sets have a pinhole button, and holding the button too long can put the TV into Recovery Mode instead of performing the intended factory reset. Check Roku’s instructions for your set before using it. (Roku Support)
