To create a portfolio with Hostinger AI Builder in manual mode, plan your pages and project layout first, then choose a template, customize its sections, check the mobile view, and publish. The key decision comes early: Hostinger says you cannot change the selected template in place after creating the site, so preview it carefully before committing.
Plan the pages and project layout
A useful starting structure is three pages: Projects, About, and Contact. Projects display your work, About introduces you, and Contact gives visitors a way to reach you. Add a blog or other page only when it serves a clear purpose for your portfolio. Hostinger’s portfolio guide describes these core pages and project layouts.

Choose how much space your work needs before building:
| Layout | Works well when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Projects together on one page | You have a small collection or visitors can understand each item from a concise summary. | Keeps browsing compact, but offers less room for each project’s process and details. |
| A dedicated page for each project | Individual projects need substantial context, images, or explanation. | Gives each project room to tell its story, but adds pages to maintain and navigate. |
| Dedicated project pages grouped in a dropdown | You have several projects and want to group their links in the navigation. | Organizes multiple pages, though visitors need to open the dropdown to find a specific project. |
These are layout options documented in Hostinger’s guide; the trade-offs are practical selection guidance. Also consider how easily you can add future work and whether visitors can scan the projects without excessive navigation.

Choose a template before creating the site
In the dashboard, open Websites, choose Create website and AI Builder, then select Manual. Open Pre-made templates, preview a design, and select Use template. Hostinger lists Portfolio among its template categories. The template supplies a starting structure; you can customize its content and presentation.
Before selecting, check that its included pages and section arrangement suit your planned portfolio, and that its visual style is close enough to your needs. Hostinger’s template instructions say the chosen template is fixed once the site is created. If you decide to use a different one, you must recreate the website and connect the domain to the replacement.
Build the project, About, and Contact pages
Present projects with enough context
For each project, make the work itself easy to see and explain what a visitor needs to understand it. A dedicated project page can hold more detail than a compact listing, while a single Projects page can help visitors scan a shorter collection. Keep headings and navigation clear so people can move from the work to your contact details.
Make the About page specific
Hostinger suggests a short bio, images or a gallery, and social links for an About page. Personal interests or influences are optional. Use the page to give relevant context about who made the work rather than letting extra details distract from it.

Keep Contact straightforward
Hostinger’s guide lists a contact form, email address, phone number, and social links as possible contact options. Choose the methods you want visitors to use and keep the page concise and easy to act on.
Customize sections and visual styling
You can add sections from section templates, generate them with AI, or start with a blank section. The editor also lets you customize content elements, backgrounds, layout, and arrangement. Its available elements include text, images, buttons, video, and forms. See Hostinger’s guide to adding and editing sections and its guide to content elements.

Use global style controls for site-wide colors, text, buttons, and animations; use local section or element settings when one part of the site needs a different treatment. Keep the visual choices consistent enough that projects remain the focus. The manual editor’s global and local controls are described in Hostinger’s style settings guide.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Review the mobile layout and site details
Switch to mobile view in the editor and inspect the pages independently. Reordering elements on desktop does not automatically reorder the mobile layout, so check the sequence and spacing on a phone-sized screen rather than assuming the desktop changes carried over. Pay particular attention to project images, headings, navigation, and contact options.

Before launch, review general settings, page meta titles and descriptions, and image alt text, as well as the site’s mobile presentation. Hostinger’s portfolio guide identifies these as portfolio checks.
Preview, then publish the portfolio
Preview the site before launch, but treat preview as a visual check rather than a complete functional test: Hostinger says some features can only be fully tested after publication. In manual mode, the site remains a private draft until it is first published. When you are ready to make it live, choose Publish in the editor. Hostinger explains preview limitations and publishing in its preview guide and publishing guide.
