Where to find the Lithographic Stone puzzle
You encounter the puzzle in the Bindery in Chapter 8, after meeting Ada and while progressing toward the Castle Battlements. A wall in the room has four Lithographic Stone slots. One stone can already be mounted, while the remaining three must be collected from furnishings around the Bindery.
Find all four stones in the Bindery
Loose-stone locations can vary between playthroughs and may also differ by difficulty. Search the entire room rather than relying on one fixed spawn point. Reported locations include:

Inspect each container and furnishing until you have four usable stones. If the puzzle appears to be missing a piece, sweep these locations again; the item may be placed somewhere different from the location shown in another walkthrough.
How the wall puzzle works
Each Lithographic Stone has two faces. You can insert a piece and rotate or flip it to show the required face. Every slot checks two visual properties:

Color helps distinguish the pieces, but it is not sufficient by itself. For example, an orange icon in the wrong border shape will not satisfy the slot. Turn a stone over whenever the symbol looks right but the door does not open.

Step-by-step solution
- Enter the Bindery and locate the wall with four Lithographic Stone slots.
- Collect every loose stone in the room, checking the bookshelf, glass case, fireplace area, cupboard and cloth-covered rear area.
- Place a stone in a slot, then rotate it until the displayed face has the required icon and border.
- Set the left slot to the orange helmet inside a hexagon.
- Set the top slot to the orange shield inside a square.
- Set the right slot to the blue sword inside a square.
- Set the bottom slot to the blue armor inside a hexagon.
- Check all four faces. The door in the wall opens automatically once the combination is correct.
Troubleshooting a combination that will not open
A stone looks correct but the puzzle rejects it
Flip the stone to its second face and compare the border outline as well as the icon. The required match is the complete face: icon plus square or hexagonal frame. A color match or symbol-only match is not enough.

One of the stones is missing
Recheck every searchable furnishing in the Bindery. Placement is not guaranteed to be identical across playthroughs, so a stone may be in the bookshelf on one run and near the fireplace or in another container on another.
The door still stays closed
Verify the slots in positional order: left helmet, top shield, right sword, bottom armor. Then confirm that the orange pieces use the helmet-hexagon and shield-square faces, while the blue pieces use the sword-square and armor-hexagon faces. Once those attributes are correct, the Bindery door should open and progression through Chapter 8 can resume.

Does difficulty change the answer?
The cited walkthroughs report variation mainly in where loose stones are found. The final wall arrangement remains the same: orange helmet/hexagon left, orange shield/square top, blue sword/square right and blue armor/hexagon bottom. There are no alternate combinations to test; changing the piece location does not change the required slot order.
