Why a precise “Can my PC run Reforj?” answer is not possible yet
A run-or-no-run verdict needs two sets of information: a developer-defined target and the computer being evaluated. The first set is missing. Without an official minimum, there is no reliable threshold for deciding whether a processor, graphics adapter, integrated GPU, memory configuration or storage device is sufficient.
Even after requirements appear, the word “minimum” should be interpreted carefully. A minimum specification generally identifies a configuration the developer intends to support under stated conditions; it does not promise a particular resolution, frame rate, visual preset, loading time or stability level unless those details are explicitly supplied. A recommended specification can likewise mean a preferred target rather than a guarantee for every scene or update.
Steam’s own guidance warns that computers at or below a game’s listed requirements may encounter performance or launch problems. Treat a future minimum as a risk boundary, not as proof of smooth play. Independent testing can reveal how a game behaves across different presets, drivers and laptop power modes, but no such Reforj testing is established in the available information.

How to check the official requirements when they are published
The authoritative place to begin is the Reforj Steam Store page. Steam’s support guidance says you can check a game’s system requirements and compatible operating systems by scrolling to that page’s “System Requirements” section, while also checking hardware requirements in addition to operating-system compatibility.
- Open the US Reforj Steam Store page. Use the listing associated with the game rather than a forum post, retailer summary or hardware recommendation copied from another title.
- Scroll to “System Requirements.” Wait for the page to load the complete section. If it still says “TBC,” there is no official specification to compare.
- Separate minimum and recommended rows. Record each tier exactly as written. Do not combine a minimum CPU with a recommended GPU and call the mixture a supported configuration.
- Copy every field. Note the Windows version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, graphics API, sound requirement, network requirement and any additional notes. Preserve qualifiers such as 64-bit, required driver versions, internet activation or stated display targets.
- Check the date of the information. A later update, demo or playtest may introduce different targets from the eventual release. Keep the version or date shown on the listing if Steam provides one.
- Compare your computer category by category. A computer that exceeds one line but falls below another should not be treated as fully compliant.
- Look for performance context. If 4J Studios states a resolution, frame-rate target, quality preset or test scenario, attach that context to the requirement instead of treating the number as universal.
A storefront requirement is the starting point, not a substitute for testing. Drivers, laptop cooling, background software, power limits and game updates can change real-world performance.
How to record your computer’s specifications in Windows
Gather the exact model names before comparing anything. “Intel,” “AMD,” “NVIDIA” or “8 GB” alone is not enough: different generations and GPU variants can perform very differently.

Find the Windows edition and version
- Open Settings.
- Select System, then About.
- Record Edition, Version, OS build and whether the system is 64-bit under System type.
When Reforj’s listing specifies a Windows release or architecture, compare the wording directly. An otherwise powerful computer can still fail an operating-system requirement if its installed edition or architecture is unsupported.
Find the processor and installed RAM
- In Settings > System > About, read the Processor and Installed RAM entries.
- For a second check, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Select Performance, then CPU or Memory. Record the processor model, logical processor count, current speed, total memory and memory speed if shown.
Installed RAM is not the same as free RAM. Windows and other programs consume memory before a game starts, so close unnecessary applications during a later test. Do not infer Reforj’s memory requirement from the amount installed in your computer; wait for the game’s own listing.
Identify every graphics adapter
- Open Task Manager > Performance and select each GPU entry.
- Record the exact model name, dedicated GPU memory and shared memory figures.
- On a laptop, note whether the machine has both integrated and discrete graphics. In Settings > System > Display > Graphics, you can later choose which adapter a game uses if Windows exposes that option.
Laptop specifications often advertise a processor family or “graphics” without identifying the actual adapter. Use the full model name shown by Windows. If the game later requires a particular graphics API or driver feature, check the GPU manufacturer’s current driver documentation rather than relying only on the amount of video memory.
Check storage and installation space
- Open File Explorer and select This PC.
- Record the free space on the drive where Steam is installed or where you would create the Reforj library.
- Allow room beyond the stated download or install size for unpacking, updates, shader caches and saved data if the final listing mentions them.
The game’s eventual storage figure may describe the installed footprint rather than the space required during installation. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing a nearly full SSD or hard drive.
Check audio and network details
Open Settings > System > Sound to confirm that Windows detects your output device and that no driver error is shown. The final listing may identify an audio requirement, but there is currently no Reforj sound-card specification.

How to compare your PC with each requirement
Use a written comparison instead of judging by one headline component. The following framework shows what to examine once the listing changes from TBC.

When a value is not established, write “not stated” rather than filling the gap with an estimate. For example, until 4J Studios publishes a GPU tier, “not stated” is the only accurate answer to “What GPU do I need for Reforj?”
Will Reforj run on a laptop?
There is no universal laptop answer while the requirements remain TBC. Two laptops with the same processor brand can have different integrated graphics, cooling capacity, power limits and memory layouts. A thin system may also reduce performance when running on battery or when heat builds up.
To evaluate a laptop after the official requirements arrive:
- Use the exact CPU and GPU model, including any mobile designation.
- Compare the discrete GPU separately from integrated graphics if both are present.

What the official 4J Studios information does and does not establish
4J Studios’ official site promotes Reforj and provides information about a future official playtest, including sign-up information. It does not currently provide a numeric PC specification table. The Steam release date remains “To be announced.” Consequently, there is no confirmed launch-day requirement set, patch-specific target or date by which a PC upgrade can be judged necessary. Should you upgrade your PC now?

Checking only the GPU
A graphics card is only one part of the comparison. Steam’s system-requirements guidance also calls for checking the operating system and other hardware requirements. CPU, memory, storage, API, audio and network conditions can each affect installation or launch.
Assuming minimum means smooth
Steam warns that systems at or below listed requirements may experience performance or launch issues. A future minimum row should be treated as a support boundary, not a frame-rate promise.
Using the wrong laptop adapter
Windows may show integrated and discrete GPUs simultaneously. Record both and identify which one the game will use; otherwise you may compare the wrong adapter to the published GPU row.

- Copy the minimum and recommended rows into a note, including every qualifier and date.
- Record your Windows edition, version, architecture, CPU, GPU, RAM, free storage, audio device and network status.
- Compare every category independently and mark any missing or ambiguous field as unresolved.
- Install required Windows updates and graphics drivers only after checking the game’s stated compatibility notes.
- Use the intended monitor resolution and document the quality preset and frame-rate target for any test.
- If launch or performance problems occur, compare the failing category with the listing before replacing hardware.
