In 91mobiles’ 2026 PCMark test, its review unit lasted 21 hours 55 minutes, the longest result among the phones compared. That endurance comes with trade-offs: the 226g phone charges more slowly than the POCO X8 Power, its chipset does not lead the group in peak performance, and its secondary cameras are average.
How long does the Redmi Note 17 Pro battery last?
In its 28 September 2026 review, 91mobiles measured 21 hours 55 minutes for the Redmi Note 17 Pro in an overnight PCMark battery test, running the phone from 100% down to 20%. The result led the comparison in that review, but it is a controlled test result rather than a promise of a particular number of hours in everyday use. Screen brightness, network conditions, apps and workload can all affect your own runtime.

| Phone | 91mobiles PCMark result (100% to 20%) |
|---|---|
| Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G | 21 hours 55 minutes |
| POCO X8 Power | 20 hours 45 minutes |
| Vivo T5 | 14 hours 42 minutes |
The same review reports that the Redmi lost 4% charge during a 60-minute YouTube streaming test. That is a separate workload and should not be compared directly with the PCMark results.
Charging is slower than the leading rival
The phone has a reported 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 67W wired charging. In 91mobiles’ test, the review unit took 96 minutes to charge from 20% to 100%. The POCO X8 Power, with 100W charging, took 79 minutes for a similar top-up in the same review. Neither phone offers wireless charging, according to 91mobiles.

Display and durability: strong specs, substantial weight
91mobiles lists a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh and a claimed peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Those figures make the display a notable part of the package, though peak brightness is a manufacturer-style specification reported by the review, not a brightness measurement described in its battery-test methodology. The Vivo T5 offers a 144Hz screen, so consider refresh rate if smooth scrolling is a higher priority than the Redmi’s endurance result.
The review reports IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, alongside a weight of 226g. The ratings indicate a broad durability-focused specification, but the phone’s heft is worth considering if you prefer a lighter device.

Performance: capable, but endurance comes first
The Redmi Note 17 Pro uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. 91mobiles reports an AnTuTu score of 949,300 and says the device retained 67.3% output in its prolonged-load burnout test; its CPU throttle result was 31%. These are review-unit benchmark and stress-test results, not guarantees of performance in every game or app.
The review’s gaming frame-rate capture did not run cleanly, so it does not establish reliable average FPS for BGMI or Call of Duty. For buyers focused on raw performance, 91mobiles points to the POCO X8 Power, Vivo T5 and iQOO Z11 as better options.

Cameras and software support
Camera system
The review describes a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide rear camera and a 16MP front camera. It found daylight output decent but judged low-light results and the secondary cameras less impressive. Choose the phone for its battery and display rather than assuming its camera system is a highlight.
Software and updates
According to 91mobiles, the phone ships with HyperOS 3 and Xiaomi promises four years of major OS updates and six years of security patches. Those support terms are reported by the review; they were not independently verified against Xiaomi’s official policy here.

Redmi Note 17 Pro vs POCO X8 Power
| What matters | Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G | POCO X8 Power |
|---|---|---|
| PCMark endurance, 100% to 20% (91mobiles, 2026) | 21 hours 55 minutes | 20 hours 45 minutes |
| Wired charging | 67W; 96 minutes from 20% to 100% in the review | 100W; 79 minutes for a similar top-up in the review |
| Wireless charging | Not offered, according to 91mobiles | Not offered, according to 91mobiles |
The Redmi’s advantage in this comparison is a longer PCMark result; the POCO charged faster in the review’s top-up test. The available comparison does not establish that one is better for every buyer, particularly if gaming performance, cameras or other features matter more.
Is it worth buying under Rs 40,000?
91mobiles reported an India price of Rs 36,999 in its 28 September 2026 review. That puts it below Rs 40,000 at the time of publication, but retail prices, offers, availability, sellers and configurations can change. Check the live listing before buying; the price and marketplace inventory have not been independently verified here.
Consider the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G if you want unusually strong tested endurance, a large AMOLED display, durability ratings and the update terms reported by the review—and are comfortable with its weight, slower charging and average secondary cameras. If peak performance is your main criterion, compare the POCO X8 Power, Vivo T5 and iQOO Z11 instead. The review advises Redmi Note 15 Pro owners to skip an upgrade; if you own one, weigh any specific improvement you need against the price rather than upgrading for the battery result alone.
