What battery capacity does the Redmi Note 17 4G have?
Xiaomi’s global product page and Bangladesh specifications list a 7,700 mAh typical-capacity silicon-carbon battery. However, Xiaomi’s UK FAQ says 8,000 mAh and describes a dual-cell lithium-polymer battery. The sources do not establish whether this reflects a regional variant, an outdated FAQ, or an error, so neither figure should be treated as universal. Consult the official specification for the model sold in your market.

How fast does it charge, and what does 45 W mean?
Xiaomi lists 45 W turbo charging for the REDMI Note 17. That is the advertised charging capability, not a promise that the phone will continuously draw 45 W: Xiaomi says power is adjusted in real time according to factors including the charger and cable, battery level, temperature, and use.
Xiaomi UK estimates about 97 minutes to reach full charge with its recommended charger under optimal conditions. This is a manufacturer estimate for those conditions, not a guaranteed everyday charging time. Charging also slows as the battery approaches full, and heat can prompt thermal regulation.

Which charger and cable should I use?
The UK FAQ lists BC 1.2, USB PD 2.0, USB PD PPS, and QC 3.0 charging protocols. It describes the included cable as USB-A to Type-C and rated at 4 A. Xiaomi’s global page lists 45 W turbo charging but directs customers to check with the local seller about adapter availability. The Bangladesh specification page lists a 45 W charger in the box for that market only.
Before buying an adapter, check what is included with your exact regional device. When comparing accessories, check the supported protocol and rated output, the cable type and rating, and whether your package already includes an adapter. A charger’s printed maximum output alone does not establish how much power the phone will draw.

Why is the charging speed very slow?
Xiaomi identifies several possible reasons: an incompatible charger or cable, high ambient temperature, heavy use while charging, or the normal reduction in power near a full battery. These are general troubleshooting possibilities, not proof that a particular phone is faulty.

- Pause demanding activities while charging if possible, so the phone has less heat and workload to manage.
- Expect charging to slow as the battery nears full.
If slow charging persists after checking these conditions, Xiaomi’s cited FAQ does not identify a specific fault diagnosis; consult support for your regional model.

Can I use the phone while it charges?
Yes. Xiaomi’s UK FAQ says the phone can be used while charging, but heavy use may reduce charging speed as the device manages heat. Xiaomi recommends letting it charge without active use where possible for better efficiency and battery longevity.

Xiaomi’s UK FAQ says battery management stops charging at full and that prolonged connection does not significantly damage the battery. It nevertheless recommends unplugging once full for safety. Treat this as the FAQ’s general statement, not a guarantee for every charger, cable, or charging environment.

How long should the battery last, and how does it age?
Xiaomi Internal Labs reports up to 26 hours of video playback and up to 2.62 days of usage. These are simulated results, not promises for every owner; Xiaomi says actual results vary with environment, software, network, and individual usage.

The company qualifies this as a theoretical calculation based on a simulated pattern of one full charge-discharge cycle every 1.83 days; actual results may vary with test conditions and usage.
The global product page also lists wired reverse charging up to 22.5 W. Xiaomi says compatibility with the receiving device and other factors affect actual performance.
Why might battery drain increase after an update?
Xiaomi’s UK FAQ says temporary extra drain can follow a software update while the phone performs background optimization, app recompilation, and re-indexing. It says consumption typically stabilizes after a few charge cycles. That explanation does not establish the cause of persistent or severe drain; if it continues, check app and battery usage or contact Xiaomi support for your region.
