The India-market realme P1 5G is a good fit if you want a 120Hz AMOLED display, capable everyday performance and long battery life at a budget price. Its trade-offs are weaker low-light photos, preinstalled apps, and limited front-glass protection. Whether it is worth buying depends on the price of the exact RAM and storage variant you want.
What the realme P1 5G offers
Announced for India in April 2024, the realme P1 5G is built around a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset and a 120Hz AMOLED display. Common configurations are 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Availability and specifications may vary by region, supplier and software version, so check the listing for the specific variant.

realme specifies a 5000mAh typical-capacity battery, rated at 4880mAh, and 45W SUPERVOOC charging. It also lists IP54-equivalent protection based on its lab testing. That is not a promise that the phone is waterproof: realme warns against charging it while wet, and liquid damage is not covered by warranty. The manufacturer’s 120Hz refresh rate applies in supported apps and scenarios.

How it performs in everyday use and games
Independent reviews generally found the Dimensity 7050 responsive for everyday tasks and capable of gaming. Digit reported an AnTuTu v10 score of 6,07,055 on its review unit; that is an outlet-specific benchmark, not a guaranteed score for every handset or software version. In Digit’s gaming tests, BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile ran at medium graphics.
These results support a verdict of solid budget-tier performance, not a claim that the P1 is the fastest option available today. For long gaming sessions, look for comparisons that test sustained performance and heat under similar conditions, rather than relying on a single benchmark or chipset name.
Display and sound: the P1’s clearest strengths
Reviewers praised the AMOLED screen for its vivid presentation and smooth scrolling. Digit measured 1,312 nits in its direct-sunlight test; this is that publication’s measurement under its test conditions, not a universal brightness guarantee. The stated 120Hz mode also depends on supported apps and scenarios.
Recommended Free Tools
Digit also praised the stereo speakers. Reviewers noted thick bezels, however, and Digit specifically pointed out the lack of Gorilla Glass protection. If front-glass durability matters to you, factor that into your choice and check what protection, if any, comes with the particular retail package.
Battery life and charging: strong, but review results vary
The 5000mAh typical battery and 45W charging are promising on paper, and reviewers found endurance to be a strength. Their reported results differ, so they should not be averaged into a single expected figure.

- Digit: Its review reported 8–9 hours of screen-on time and around 50% charge after 30 minutes.
These are observations from individual review units and test routines, not promises about your own screen time or charging speed. Usage, network conditions, settings, charger and software can affect results.
Camera: capable in good light, less convincing at night
The recurring camera drawback in the reviews is low-light performance. MySmartPrice described noise and grain, weak detail and a short image-processing delay in dim conditions. Digit likewise listed subpar low-light photography as a con. If you frequently photograph people or scenes at night, the P1 is a less compelling choice than its screen and performance strengths might suggest.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe reviews do not establish a current head-to-head camera ranking against competing phones. When comparing alternatives, check sample photos from both daylight and low-light scenes rather than judging only by camera specifications.
Software and build: consider the everyday annoyances
Both MySmartPrice and Digit identified preinstalled apps or bloatware as a downside. If you prefer a clean software setup, check which apps can be removed or disabled on the current software version before buying.
Digit also noted sharp sides and thick bezels. Those are hands-on reviewer observations, so comfort is personal; if possible, handle the phone before purchase. The absence of Gorilla Glass is a more concrete consideration for anyone who prioritizes stronger front-glass protection.

Price in India and how to judge the deal
Gadgets 360 reported a starting India price of ₹13,999 in a listing snapshot dated 7 October 2026. Treat that as a dated observation, not a guaranteed selling price or proof that a particular variant is in stock. Prices and availability can change, and the starting figure may not apply to the RAM/storage configuration you want.

A useful comparison should include sustained performance, screen quality and outdoor legibility, daylight and low-light cameras, battery and charging, software clutter, build and protection, and the price for equivalent RAM and storage. Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 120Hz AMOLED display praised by reviewers | Low-light camera results are a recurring weakness |
| Dimensity 7050 performance suited to everyday use and gaming | Preinstalled apps may frustrate buyers who want a cleaner setup |
| 5000mAh typical battery and 45W charging; reviewers praised endurance | No Gorilla Glass protection noted by Digit |
| Stereo speakers praised by Digit | Reviewers noted thick bezels; Digit also noted sharp sides |
| IP54-equivalent protection stated by realme, based on its lab testing | IP54-equivalent protection does not make it waterproof, and liquid damage is excluded from warranty |
Verdict: should you buy the realme P1 5G?
Choose the realme P1 5G if a smooth AMOLED screen, dependable everyday performance, gaming at moderate settings and battery endurance matter more to you than night photography or a clean software installation. Its appeal is strongest when the price is competitive for the exact memory variant you need.
Look elsewhere if low-light camera quality, fewer preinstalled apps or stronger front-glass protection are high priorities. Before paying, compare current prices for equivalent configurations and verify the seller, stock and included protection; the dated starting-price report alone cannot establish today’s best deal.
