The only dated price for the Redmi is a Spanish report from 17 September 2026, and no matching current price for the GT 7 is established in the same market. This article sets out which specifications are confirmed, which are missing, and how to work out the price difference for a market you choose.
Which market the specifications describe
Both phones are sold under different specifications in different countries, so a comparison has to name a market first. The GT 7 figures used here come from two realme pages: the Saudi Arabia page titled “realme GT 7 Full Specifications & Features”, which lists specifications and network bands, and the India page titled “realme GT 7 – 7000mAh Titan Battery & Dimensity 9400e”, which highlights the battery and chipset. The Redmi figures come from Xiaomi India’s page “REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G | Price & Specifications”. Xiaomi’s UK pages carry their own region-specific details, so values from one country should not be assumed for another.

Specifications side by side
The table shows only values that the checked sources state. Where a source is silent, the cell says so rather than filling the gap with an assumption.

Chipset and performance
The GT 7 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e according to realme’s India page, while the Redmi uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 according to Xiaomi’s India page. The two chips belong to different tiers, and the published pages do not include benchmark results. Any statement about which phone is faster in daily use would need independent testing, which has not been carried out for this comparison.

Display
The Redmi’s display is the better-documented of the two in the sources checked: a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with refresh rates up to 120Hz. realme’s India page describes the GT 7 display only as high-brightness, so a direct comparison of size, resolution or refresh rate is not possible from the pages checked.
Battery
The GT 7’s 7000mAh battery is the one capacity that realme’s India page makes prominent. The Redmi’s battery capacity and charging speed are not stated in the sources checked, so the battery difference cannot be measured from those pages.

What the price evidence shows
The only dated price for the Redmi in the sources checked comes from Cinco Días Smartlife, a Spanish outlet, in a report published on 17 September 2026:
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, 8GB/256GB: €599.99
- Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, 8GB/512GB: €649.99
These are reported Spanish prices from a report about three weeks old at the time of writing, not a live retailer check. No GT 7 price in Spain, India or Saudi Arabia is matched to the same date and storage tier.
Rank #3
- 6.79 inches, AMOLED, 1B colors, 1440 x 3136 pixels
- 512GB Storage, 16GB RAM
- Android 16, Qualcomm SM8850-AC Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (3 nm), Octa-core (2x4.6 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix L + 6x3.62 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix M)
- Rear: 50 MP, f/1.8, 22mm (wide), 1/1.56", 1.0µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS, 200 MP, f/2.6, 65mm, (periscope telephoto), 1/1.56", 0.5µm, multi-directional PDAF, OIS, 3x optical zoom, 50 MP, f/2.0, 16mm, 116˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.88", 0.64µm, Front: 32 MP, f/2.4, 24mm (wide), 1/3.1", 0.7µm
- 161.8 x 76.9 x 8.2 mm (6.37 x 3.03 x 0.32 in)
A 91mobiles comparison page for the two models lists Amazon prices for configurations, but the listing alone does not show whether those offers are current, which market they serve, or whether they match the Redmi’s storage tier. It should not be treated as proof of a price gap.
The price difference therefore cannot be stated for any market from the evidence checked. Quoting a figure such as “the GT 7 costs €X less” would need a current price for each phone in the same country, at the same RAM and storage level, on the same date.

How to work out the price difference yourself
- Choose one country. Use the market where you intend to buy, since realme and Xiaomi set prices and specifications per region.
- Pick matching configurations. For the Redmi, the Spanish report covers 8GB/256GB and 8GB/512GB; check that the GT 7 is sold in the same RAM and storage combinations in that country.
- Check the manufacturer’s regional store for each phone. Record the listed price, the storage tier and the date, using realme’s regional site and Xiaomi’s regional site.
- Confirm the price type. Note whether each figure is a launch price, a standard retailer price or a promotional price, because a promotion can be withdrawn at any time.
- Compare retailer offers at the same date. Use the same retailer for both phones where possible, and record any bundled accessories or extended warranty terms that change the real cost.
Gaps to close before deciding
- GT 7 display size, resolution and refresh rate for your market.
- GT 7 RAM and storage options for your market.
- Redmi battery capacity and charging speed.
- Camera hardware, charger contents and software update commitments for both phones, which the checked pages do not state.
- Network bands for your country, checked against the manufacturer’s page for that region.
Until those values are confirmed in one market, the honest comparison is that the Redmi has a larger, faster-refreshing display on paper and the GT 7 has the larger battery capacity, with no reliable price difference yet established.
