The Razer Viper V4 Pro is a lightweight wireless esports mouse with 8,000 Hz polling available both wired and wirelessly. Razer rates battery life at up to 180 hours at 1,000 Hz or 45 hours at 8,000 Hz. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results; this review weighs the published features against the practical questions competitive players should consider before buying.

What is the Razer Viper V4 Pro?

Razer announced the Viper V4 Pro on March 24, 2026, describing it as a wireless esports mouse. Its support listing identifies the product code as RZ01-0563. Razer lists black and white editions on its product and support pages, while its support information also includes an Esports Green Edition. Availability may differ by region; current stock and pricing have not been established.

Razer positions the mouse for right-handed use with a symmetrical shape engineered for claw and fingertip grips. That is the company’s design positioning, not a guarantee of fit. Check the listed dimensions against your hand and grip preference where possible, especially if you use a palm grip or prefer a differently shaped shell.

Razer’s product page gives the black edition’s weight as 49 g and notes 50 g for white. Color editions therefore should not be treated as identical in weight: the support figures are approximate, and the Germany materials describe green with a different “under 52 g” qualification.

  • FOCUS PRO 50K DPI OPTICAL SENSOR GEN-3 — Tracks up to 930 IPS and 90 G acceleration for accurate, high‑speed movement while Frame Sync reduces latency by aligning sensor data with the PC for ultimate precision and responsive in‑game control that competitive players expect
  • LONG BATTERY LIFE — Improved wireless efficiency provides up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz or up to 45 hours at 8000 Hz, letting players choose between extended battery life or ultra‑low latency performance

Is 8,000 Hz polling available wirelessly?

Yes. Razer says the Viper V4 Pro supports up to 8,000 Hz in both wireless and wired modes. Polling rate is how often the mouse reports its position to the computer; a higher rate can mean more frequent updates, but the number alone does not establish better aim or a meaningful advantage for every player. Whether you can benefit depends on your setup, games, and sensitivity to responsiveness.

Razer’s March 24, 2026 announcement also reports click latency “averages as low as 0.204 ms” and motion latency of 0.36 ms, and advertises comparisons with generic competitors. These are company-published figures. The available materials do not provide independent test methodology sufficient to validate the latency claims or establish a fair comparison with another mouse.

How long does the Viper V4 Pro battery last?

Razer specifies up to 180 hours at a 1,000 Hz polling rate and up to 45 hours at 8,000 Hz. These are manufacturer-rated maximums, not independently reproduced battery tests or a promise of identical runtime for every user. The figures make the trade-off clear: Razer’s stated runtime is substantially shorter at the highest polling setting. If you prefer fewer charging interruptions, 1,000 Hz is the more battery-conscious published mode; if you choose 8,000 Hz, plan around the lower rated maximum.

Software, setup, and onboard profiles

Razer says Synapse provides controls for dynamic sensitivity, single-DPI-step adjustments, sensitivity matching, rotation adjustment, and lift-off and landing distance. The mouse has one onboard memory profile, which matters if you switch among computers and want settings stored on the device rather than relying on software profiles. Razer’s support listing says the mouse has no dock compatibility and lists accessory compatibility as “None”; the published specifications do not indicate that a dock or proprietary accessory is required.

  • LONG-LASTING BATTERY FOR EXTENDED PLAY — Up to 150 hours at 1000 Hz lets you game longer without interruptions, ideal for long sessions or tournament play

Support software can change over time. Razer lists firmware updater version 1.04.01_r1 dated June 23, 2026, and a pairing utility dated April 14, 2026. For current setup or troubleshooting, check the Razer support page rather than relying on an old firmware or pairing guide.

Who should consider the Viper V4 Pro?

Its published feature set is most relevant to competitive players who want a light wireless mouse, high polling options in both wired and wireless modes, and sensor and configuration features aimed at fine adjustment. The deciding factors are likely to be fit, the specific edition’s weight, and whether high polling is useful enough in your setup to accept Razer’s lower stated battery maximum at 8,000 Hz.

  • Check the shape: Razer describes a right-handed symmetrical design for claw and fingertip grips. Dimensions are 127.1 × 63.9 × 39.9 mm; personal comfort cannot be inferred from the spec sheet.
  • Choose by edition, not just headline weight: Razer’s support specifications distinguish black, white, and green weight descriptions.
  • Match polling to your priorities: 8,000 Hz is specified for wireless and wired use, while the stated battery maximum drops from 180 hours at 1,000 Hz to 45 hours at 8,000 Hz.
  • Consider your software needs: Synapse offers detailed adjustments, but onboard memory is limited to one profile.
  • Compare performance claims carefully: Razer’s DPI, speed, acceleration, and latency numbers are specifications or claims, not proof of superior real-world aim. Use the same independent test method when comparing mice.

Razer launched the Gigantus V2 Pro mouse mat alongside the Viper V4 Pro and says that mat line offers five speed ratings. It is an optional surface choice for players comparing glide and control, not something Razer says is included with or required for the mouse. The launch announcement also quotes Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok, identified by Razer as a six-time League of Legends World Champion, praising the mouse’s responsiveness. That endorsement is not independent product testing.

What this review can and cannot establish

Razer’s official materials establish the Viper V4 Pro’s published specifications, advertised latency figures, software features, and supported editions. They do not establish independent hands-on performance, comparative polling or latency results, current regional price, or live stock. Treat the spec sheet as a basis for deciding whether the design and feature set match your priorities, not as a substitute for independent measurements or checking local availability.
