For Romeo & Juliet, Steam’s catalog says, “Unlock two new heroes in Ravenswatch.” That wording describes the free hero DLC, not the separate skin pack. What does the Kintarō DLC include?
Kintarō and Kuma
In a September 21, 2026 announcement, developer Passtech Games described Kintarō as a child riding Kuma, a bear. The announcement says players can switch between a classic playstyle and dual gameplay that controls two characters. It named October 12, 2026 as the release date and announced a $7.99 price across platforms. Since that release date has passed as of October 13, 2026, Kintarō is the newest of the hero additions covered here; the announcement alone does not prove that a particular store currently has the DLC available at that price.
The advertised distinction between classic and dual gameplay is about how Kintarō and Kuma are controlled. It is the specific playstyle detail Passtech highlighted, rather than a promise about extra heroes or a separate game mode. The announcement identifies Kintarō as the paid Hero DLC; it does not say the player needs to buy another listed add-on to receive the free update described alongside it.
The free update is not the paid hero DLC
The same announcement distinguishes Kintarō’s paid Hero DLC from an accompanying free update. The update was described as available to all players and included a Talents Rework for all heroes. In other words, the announced changes to the talent system were not described as requiring a Kintarō purchase. Buying the character and receiving the update are separate matters.

Be careful to select the hero DLC rather than the similarly named Romeo & Juliet Skin Pack. The pack is listed separately at $4.99 and unlocks six matching skins available from the hero selection menu. Those are appearances, not the two playable characters themselves. As with other displayed Steam prices, the listed amount is a storefront snapshot and should not be assumed to apply unchanged across regions or over time.
In practical terms, the free hero listing and paid skin pack serve different purposes. If you want the characters, check that you are viewing the item whose description says it unlocks two heroes.
