What the six examples have inside

That description supports the instrument’s hybrid design, but does not independently verify the reported internal Compute Module.

Framework Laptop 16: a keyboard microcontroller
The roundup says the Framework Laptop 16 keyboard uses QMK firmware and an RP2040. The RP2040 is a microcontroller designed by Raspberry Pi; it is not a Raspberry Pi single-board computer. This is the roundup’s clearest example of why “Raspberry Pi inside” should not be taken to mean that every product contains a complete Pi computer.

Seeed Studio reTerminal: a rugged panel PC
The roundup reports that the reTerminal range uses a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and serves as a rugged panel PC. The evidence cited here does not independently confirm that component claim, so it is best understood as reported internal hardware rather than a verified specification for every reTerminal model.
Puttr: a smart putting green
The roundup describes Puttr as a smart putting green that uses Raspberry Pi hardware, computer vision, and Bluetooth. It does not identify a specific Raspberry Pi model in the available article material.

PiKVM is a KVM-over-IP product family for remotely controlling computers. Its official site lists the V4 Mini, V4 Plus, V3 HAT, Switch, and V3, and describes capabilities including remote control, video, webcam forwarding, USB features, and HDMI passthrough. The roundup specifies a Compute Module 4 in the V4 Plus and says other PiKVM solutions use Raspberry Pi boards or kits. The official site confirms the product family and its functions, not that internal-hardware breakdown.

Why a finished product might use Raspberry Pi hardware
A Compute Module or small computer can provide computing capability inside a product designed for a specific job, while the manufacturer builds the surrounding hardware and software around that purpose. A microcontroller such as the RP2040 can handle a more focused role, such as keyboard control. These examples span instruments, a laptop component, a panel PC, a golf product, arcade cabinets, and remote-access equipment; they do not show that the hardware is exposed to owners, easily modified, or interchangeable between products.
