If Print Screen stopped working after a Logitech G HUB update, first check the device’s active profile and the key’s assignment in G HUB. Logitech’s documented Print Screen action change was for Logi Options+ version 1.86, a separate application—not a confirmed G HUB regression—so verify which Logitech app you are using before treating an update as the cause.
Check the profile and assignment in G HUB
- Select the device and active profile. In G HUB, choose the Logitech device, then the profile that is active when you press the key. An assignment in another profile will not necessarily apply to the one you are using. Logitech’s assignment guidance starts by choosing the profile to configure, including the desktop default profile when appropriate: Logitech’s profile guidance.
- Open Assignments and inspect the target key. Select the key or programmable button that should trigger Print Screen. Confirm that the assigned action is the one you intend, and check any modifier or event setting. G HUB distinguishes the assignment from modifier and event behavior; an action may be configured to trigger on a press or release. See Logitech’s G HUB remapping guidance.
- Restore the default if the control is disabled or misassigned. Use USE DEFAULT to reset the control, then apply the desired assignment again. G HUB also offers DISABLE, so check that the key has not been turned off.
- Test in the intended profile and application. Press the key in the context where you expect it to work. If the mapping still fails, note the device model, operating system, G HUB version, active profile, and what you expected versus what happened; those details are needed to narrow down the cause.
Make sure you are using G HUB, not Logi Options+
Logitech’s Print Screen-specific notice concerns Logi Options+ version 1.86. Logitech Support says, “After the update, the Screen Capture action no longer functions as a Print Screen key.” The notice explains that Options+ introduced a separate Print Screen action. If you are configuring the device in Options+, assign that action when you want standard Print Screen behavior; do not assume the Screen Capture action is equivalent. Does a G HUB update cause this problem?
The G HUB release-note material available for this issue lists various fixes but does not identify a Print Screen-specific regression or fix. That does not establish that an update caused your symptom. Start with the assignment, selected profile, and app identity rather than assuming a particular update broke Print Screen.
