A PS5 uses an AC power cord that plugs into the console’s AC IN port. The console-end connector is commonly identified as an IEC 60320 C7, or figure-eight, connector; Sony’s support pages call it an AC power cord but do not specify the C7 standard. Sony recommends using the cord included with the console.
What the PS5 power cord is called
The cord is an AC mains power cord—not a USB cable. A replacement guide identifies the console-end connector as an IEC 60320 C7 figure-eight connector. What Sony recommends

Choosing a replacement cord
If the original cord is missing or damaged, the common connector name can help you identify the console end, but it does not establish that every cable sold as C7 is suitable or endorsed by Sony. Match both ends: the console-side C7 figure-eight connector and a wall plug compatible with your country’s outlets. Check the product’s stated electrical ratings and safety markings, and do not use a cord that is damaged or modified. Sony’s guidance remains to use the included cord; for concerns about the cord, consult the appropriate PlayStation customer-service helpline.
