You don’t have to choose: check both services, then claim the games you actually want to play. Amazon’s October 2026 Prime PC offers include games redeemed through Epic Games Store, while Epic runs its own separate weekly giveaway. The best offer depends on the title, claim deadline, redemption steps, and where the game will live—not on a universal platform winner.
Prime Gaming and Epic give you games in different ways
Amazon’s current branding is Amazon Luna, though “Prime Gaming” remains a familiar name for its Prime benefits. Amazon says Prime members continue to receive rotating PC games; these are downloadable claims, distinct from games streamed through Luna. Its October 2026 update adds ten PC games to claim during the month. Amazon’s October 2026 Luna update

Epic’s own free game is a separate weekly promotion. Epic says the offer changes every Thursday at 8 AM PT and stays available to claim for seven days. Once successfully claimed, it remains in your Epic library. Epic Games Store: How to get free games
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThere is some overlap: a Prime PC offer can be redeemed through Epic, but that does not make it the same promotion as Epic’s weekly giveaway. Amazon’s list also uses GOG, Amazon Games, and Legacy Games for some titles, so check the redemption route before claiming.

Amazon’s October 2026 Prime PC games
Amazon Game Studios published this October lineup on October 6, 2026. The dates below are the listed claim dates; the announcement does not give each offer’s exact expiration time. Check the live Luna claim page for the current deadline and regional availability.
| Claim date | Game | Redemption route |
|---|---|---|
| October 1 | Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit | Epic Games Store |
| October 1 | DOOM | GOG code |
| October 8 | Conarium | GOG code |
| October 8 | WarBreeds | GOG code |
| October 15 | Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong | Epic Games Store |
| October 15 | Caravan SandWitch | Amazon Games App |
| October 22 | Ad Infinitum | Epic Games Store |
| October 22 | Time Travel: Escape Room Game | Legacy Games code |
| October 29 | Trash Goblin | Epic Games Store |
| October 29 | Kiborg | Amazon Games App |
Amazon’s October announcement also describes more than 80 games in Luna Standard, but that is a cloud-play catalogue figure, not the number of downloadable Prime PC claims. The Luna cloud catalogue is separate and geographically limited; Amazon’s country list for cloud delivery should not be mistaken for the availability of Prime PC claims. Which free games are worth claiming?
There is no evidence-based blanket winner: the official offer pages establish titles and claim mechanics, not comparative game quality. Use these checks to decide whether an individual offer is worthwhile.
- Would you play it? A free game has little practical value if its genre or premise does not appeal to you.
- Can you claim it in time? Epic specifies a seven-day window for its weekly game. Amazon lists October dates, but you need the live claim page for each offer’s precise cutoff.
- Are you willing to set up the required account? Epic requires an account with two-factor authentication enabled. Amazon’s offers may involve a separate storefront account, a code, or the Amazon Games app.
- Where will it be stored? Note whether the claim is attached to Epic, GOG, Amazon Games, or Legacy Games so you know which account to use later.
- Do you want a download or a stream? Prime PC offers are downloadable game claims; Luna cloud games are streamed and have their own country limits.
- Are you checking both? A title offered through Prime may redeem on Epic, so inspect the Prime listing as well as Epic’s weekly giveaway.
How to claim Epic’s weekly free game
- Open the Epic Games Store’s current free-games offer and sign in to your Epic account.
- Make sure two-factor authentication is enabled on the account, as Epic requires it for free-game claims.
- Select the game and complete the claim before the seven-day offer window ends. Epic says the promotion changes Thursdays at 8 AM PT.
- Confirm the claim appears in your Epic library. A successful claim stays there; a game you missed is not automatically added, though it could return in a future offer.

What to know about Amazon’s offers
Prime membership qualifies you for Amazon’s rotating PC games. Amazon’s claim instructions describe offers that may be redeemed through linked storefronts, game codes, or the Amazon Games app; the precise steps depend on the game’s listed route. Amazon’s Luna and Prime Games explainer
Do not treat claiming an Amazon PC game as adding it to a Luna streaming catalogue. Luna cloud games are streamed, not permanent PC-store claims. Amazon says Luna cloud-delivered games are available in 14 listed countries, while rotating Prime PC games continue for Prime members everywhere. Check Amazon’s current offer page for regional availability and claim deadlines.
