Amazon’s October 6–7, 2026 Prime Big Deal Days sale includes reported discounts on several Mac configurations, but not equally large savings across Apple’s entire lineup. The strongest documented cuts include $200 off select M5 MacBook Air models; the MacBook Neo was listed just $9 below its stated price. These are time-sensitive U.S. price snapshots, not guaranteed checkout prices.

Which reported discounts stand out?
MacBook Air: the clearest broadly useful cut
9to5Mac reported $200 off both listed M5 MacBook Air configurations: the 13-inch 16GB/512GB model at $1,099 and the 15-inch version at $1,299. It also listed higher-storage configurations with $200 reductions. Choose between screen sizes and storage needs first; the discount alone does not make one configuration a better fit.
Mac mini and Mac Studio: compare desktop configurations closely
The Mac mini prices differ by storage, and coverage did not agree on the 256GB model’s sale price. Apple’s September 22 announcement set U.S. starting prices of $899 for Mac mini M6 and $1,699 for Mac mini M5 Pro. It set Mac Studio starting prices of $2,499 for M5 Max and $5,499 for M5 Ultra. Those are starting prices for product lines, not necessarily the exact configurations in deal reports. Apple’s September 22 announcement

MacBook Pro: savings depend on the exact model
The reported Pro prices refer to distinct configurations: 9to5Mac’s $2,699 offer is a 14-inch M5 Pro with 24GB memory and 2TB storage, while Macworld’s $1,839 14-inch M5 and $2,749 16-inch M5 Pro listings do not specify memory and storage in the cited roundup. They should not be treated as interchangeable deals.

Neo and iMac: discounts are comparatively modest
Macworld’s listed $690 MacBook Neo price is $9 below its $699 stated price. Its two iMac M4 listings were each $139 below their stated prices. Macworld said it would want a larger iMac discount before recommending the older M4 iMac over newer Macs; a markdown is not, by itself, a buying recommendation.

How to check whether a Mac deal is worthwhile
- Match the complete configuration. Verify chip, laptop screen size or desktop model, memory, and storage on the product listing. Similar names can refer to materially different machines.
- Compare like with like. Check the listed event price against the stated regular price for that same configuration, not an Apple starting price for a different model.
- Confirm the live offer. Check the current checkout price, stock, and Prime eligibility before ordering. The cited coverage is a dated snapshot, not a price guarantee.
- Decide on the computer before the discount. Consider whether the screen size, desktop format, memory, and storage suit your needs. A low price on the wrong configuration is not a useful saving.
