Before ordering, confirm the exact product announcement and the current seller listing; a sold-out status, lottery, or restock request does not guarantee that you will be able to buy the item later.
Are Pokémon TCG preorder limits standard?
No single purchase cap applies across all products and sellers. Pokémon Center Japan says limits may apply to selected products and directs customers to the current shop notices and News page for details. When will a sold-out Pokémon TCG product restock?
There is no general restock timetable in the official FAQs reviewed. Pokémon Center Japan says it generally does not provide specific availability or restock schedules. Pokémon Center Online Japan says the timing for a sold-out item is undecided and that the item may instead be discontinued. Pokémon International said on March 27, 2025, that it was increasing production for future expansions and would continue reprinting affected products for participating retailers, including Pokémon Center, as soon as possible. Does a lottery or preorder guarantee a later general sale?
No. Pokémon Center Online Japan explains that if lottery applications exceed the prepared quantity, the product may not be offered for general sale on Pokémon Center Online after release. Read the seller’s terms to learn whether an order is a lottery entry, a confirmed purchase, or a preorder subject to cancellation, and check whether the listing specifies a closing date or allocation conditions.
How do you find the release date?
Start with Pokémon’s official announcement for the named expansion and product, then check the seller listing for its own preorder cutoff and shipping or pickup timing. Products associated with the same expansion can have different release dates, and prerelease availability can come earlier.

For the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order expansion, Pokémon said select Play! Pokémon Stores began selling the Build & Battle Box on March 14, 2026, ahead of the expansion’s March 27 launch. What are you preordering?
Compare what is in the box and how you plan to use it, not just the date or product name. These examples are specific to Mega Evolution—Pitch Black; contents can differ for other expansions, so verify the exact item announcement.

What should you check before placing an order?
- Match the product: Confirm the expansion, product type, and variant against Pokémon’s official announcement.
- Verify the date: Distinguish the product’s general release from any local prerelease event or early sale.
- Read the seller listing: Check the purchase cap, preorder closing date, lottery or first-come process, shipping or pickup terms, and cancellation policy.
- Assess the contents: Compare packs, promos, accessories, or a playable deck against what you want from the purchase.
