Which phone is better for your needs?
Choose by physical RAM, not the biggest advertised number
The comparison lists POCO C71 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and Redmi A5 with 3GB or 4GB. Xiaomi advertises the Redmi A5 as offering up to 8GB RAM, but that figure includes virtual RAM: Xiaomi describes it as 4GB physical RAM plus 4GB virtual RAM. Virtual RAM is not the same as having 8GB of physical memory. Check the exact SKU before comparing prices, especially if you keep several apps open.

Consider software and update commitments
Xiaomi states that Redmi A5 ships with Android 15 and promises two years of Android updates and four years of security updates on its India product page. 91mobiles lists the same update durations for POCO C71, but those figures are not confirmed here by a retrieved official POCO product page. If the update commitment is central to your decision, verify it with POCO for the precise model and region rather than treating the comparison listing as manufacturer confirmation.
Match storage expansion to your use
Both phones are listed with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, but the comparison database gives different expansion ceilings: up to 1TB for POCO C71 and up to 2TB for Redmi A5. These are listed maximum capacities; confirm card compatibility and the exact model’s supported limit before buying a memory card.
Do not infer camera quality from megapixels or aperture alone
The listed rear and selfie camera resolutions match, while the comparison database gives different apertures. Those specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos. The available evidence does not include a controlled, matched camera comparison, so lighting, processing and real sample images matter more than declaring a winner from the spec sheet.

Both are 4G phones, not 5G alternatives
91mobiles lists both as 4G-only, with matching India LTE bands. If you need 5G, neither fits that requirement. For use outside India, verify the bands and exact model variant with the seller or manufacturer; network compatibility should not be assumed across regions.

IP52 is splash resistance, not waterproofing
Both are listed as IP52-rated, and Xiaomi confirms that rating for Redmi A5. Treat it as limited protection against dust and water exposure, not permission to submerge either phone or use it in heavy rain.

There is no dependable price difference to quote from the available retailer snapshots. The opened 91mobiles comparison page showed POCO C71 at ₹12,399 on Amazon India and Redmi A5 at ₹8,999 but marked out of stock; a search-result snapshot showed different prices. These are time-sensitive retailer observations, not manufacturer retail prices, and the stock and price conflict makes them unsuitable as a current head-to-head offer.
For a fair comparison, check both listings on the same day and, where possible, at the same retailer. Match RAM and storage first, then compare the final checkout price, delivery, seller, warranty and return terms. A lower-priced 3GB Redmi A5 is not an equivalent comparison to a higher-memory POCO C71.

Battery life and performance: what the specifications cannot settle
The shared T7250 processor and 5,200mAh battery make the headline specifications similar, but they do not prove identical real-world speed or endurance. The comparison database reports a 13-hour-41-minute PCMark battery result for POCO C71 only; it gives no corresponding Redmi A5 result. That unmatched result cannot show which lasts longer. Xiaomi says the Redmi A5’s included 15W charger requires Xiaomi’s wired charging set of the same power, so check what is included with the specific purchase.
