Choose based on the phone and features you already use: Pixel Buds Pro 2 are the more natural fit for Android users who want Google features, while AirPods Pro 2 are the more natural fit for iPhone users who value Apple’s ecosystem. Both pair over Bluetooth, but pairing does not guarantee access to every feature. Neither has a proven overall advantage in noise cancellation, sound, calls, or comfort based on the manufacturers’ specifications alone.

Which is better for Android or iPhone?
Choose Pixel Buds Pro 2 for Google and Android features
Google says the earbuds pair with Bluetooth 4.0 or later devices, including Android, iOS, tablets, and laptops. It separately says full feature access requires a Google Account, an internet connection, and an Assistant-enabled companion phone running Android 6.0 or newer. That makes them usable with an iPhone for Bluetooth listening, but not a guarantee of the full Google feature set. Check Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 product information for its pairing and feature requirements.

AirPods Pro 2 make the most sense if you use an iPhone and want Apple’s listed controls, personalized spatial audio, or hearing-related features. Apple’s specifications describe features that can depend on compatible Apple hardware and software, so confirm the device and operating-system requirements for the particular function you intend to use. The cited Apple USB-C specifications cover the USB-C case version.

How long does the battery last with ANC?
Google estimates Pixel Buds Pro 2 battery life at up to 8 hours per earbud and 30 hours total with the charging case when ANC is on. With ANC off, Google estimates up to 12 hours per earbud and 48 hours total. Apple estimates up to 6 hours per charge and up to 30 hours with the case for USB-C AirPods Pro 2 with ANC. These are manufacturer estimates with different stated test conditions, not a direct comparison; actual runtime can vary with use and settings.
Apple’s cited battery-test notes describe August 2023 preproduction hardware and iPhone 15 Pro test equipment. Treat the figures as Apple’s estimate, rather than evidence that one model will last longer for every listener.

Which earbuds fit better?
There is no reliable way to call a universal comfort winner from the listed design details. Google includes a twist-to-adjust stabilizer and four tip sizes; Apple lists four silicone tip sizes. Google also says it analyzed 45 million ear-scan data points in designing the Pixel Buds Pro 2 shape and describes the model as 27% smaller and 24% lighter than the previous Pixel Buds Pro. Those are Google’s design claims, not proof that the earbuds will fit a particular person better.
Try different tip sizes, including different sizes in each ear if needed. Google notes that “Ears are unique, so your left ear may be different from your right ear.” If possible, test the fit before buying and check the retailer’s return policy.

How do their listening and hearing features compare?
Google lists Silent Seal 2.0 active noise cancellation (ANC), Adaptive Audio, Loud Noise Protection, Conversation Detection, and spatial audio with head tracking for Pixel Buds Pro 2. Apple lists ANC, Adaptive Audio, Transparency, Conversation Awareness, personalized spatial audio, and hearing-related features for AirPods Pro 2.
These lists show what each manufacturer offers; they do not establish which earbuds cancel more noise, sound better, handle calls better, or deliver more effective hearing features. Does the AirPods Pro 2 case version matter?
Yes. Apple’s USB-C AirPods Pro 2 specifications list IP54 dust and water resistance for both the earbuds and case, as well as USB-C and MagSafe charging. The earlier Lightning-case model is listed separately with IPX4 for the earbuds and case. Do not assume the rating or charging details for one case version apply to the other. See Apple’s USB-C specifications and Lightning specifications.

Which earbuds should you buy?
- Pick Pixel Buds Pro 2 if you use Android, especially if Google feature access and its named listening features are priorities.
- Pick AirPods Pro 2 if you use Apple devices and want Apple’s ecosystem features, including its listed controls and hearing-related functions.
- Before choosing either, check the features available for your device and region, try the fit if you can, and verify the exact AirPods case version and current price.
There is no evidence in the cited specifications to declare a winner for ANC effectiveness, audio quality, call quality, or comfort. If those are the deciding factors, use a trusted independent comparison that tests both models under comparable conditions rather than treating feature lists or battery estimates as a performance verdict.
