Choose by the mounting size your case or radiator supports, then check your motherboard’s separate fan and lighting headers. ARCTIC’s published specifications show different speed, airflow and static-pressure figures, but the available product and support information does not establish which fan is quieter or cools better in a real system.
At a glance: P12 A-RGB vs. P14 A-RGB
These are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent head-to-head test. ARCTIC lists both fans with Fluid Dynamic Bearings, 4-pin PWM fan connections, 3-pin 5 V A-RGB lighting connections, 16 LEDs and a six-year warranty.

Choose the P12 for a 120 mm mount
The P12 measures 120 × 120 × 26 mm. It is the relevant choice when the case, radiator or other mounting position is designed for a 120 mm fan and has room for its 26 mm thickness.
#1 Best Overall
- LN SERIES – OPTIMIZED FOR SILENT ENTHUSIASTS: With a 450–2000 rpm speed range, the fan is tuned for a balanced ratio of performance and low noise, avoiding extreme peak values and ensuring quiet operation
- PWM CONTROL WITH WIDE SPEED RANGE: The speed can be progressively adjusted up to 2000 rpm via the 4-pin PWM connection – the fan stops completely at less than 5% PWM
- PRECISE MANUFACTURING FOR MAXIMUM SMOOTH RUNNING: Minimal gaps, automatic balancing and high-precision measurement noticeably reduce vibrations – for quiet, efficient and long-lasting performance
- SMOOTH-RUNNING FLUID DYNAMIC BEARING (FDB): The self-lubricating bearing minimizes noise during operation – ideal for quiet, efficient cooling and a long, reliable service life
- NEW FAN BLADE DESIGN FOR MORE PERFORMANCE: The redesigned rotor blades offer an optimal balance of performance and low noise – especially efficient at low speeds
Choose the P14 for a 140 mm mount
The P14 measures 140 × 140 × 28 mm. Use it only where the mounting points and available depth accommodate that size. A larger fan cannot be substituted for a 120 mm fan unless the enclosure or radiator provides a compatible mounting position.
Check the equipment manual or measure the mounting position before choosing. The model names indicate fan class, but the listed dimensions also matter when clearance is tight.

- HIGH STATIC PRESSURE: Efficient even with resistance – the generated airflow easily penetrates dense radiators, narrow perforated panels and mesh structures and ensures reliable cooling
- PWM CONTROL WITH WIDE SPEED RANGE: The speed can be progressively adjusted up to 3000 rpm via the 4-pin PWM connection – the fan stops completely at less than 5% PWM
- PRECISE MANUFACTURING FOR MAXIMUM SMOOTH RUNNING: Minimal gaps, automatic balancing and high-precision measurement noticeably reduce vibrations – for quiet, efficient and long-lasting performance

How to interpret the performance figures
ARCTIC lists higher airflow and a lower maximum speed for the P14, while the P12 has the higher published static-pressure figure and a higher maximum speed. Those specifications describe different characteristics; they do not, by themselves, identify a better fan for every case or radiator.

- Airflow: ARCTIC lists 76 cfm (129 m³/h) for the P12 and 110 cfm (186 m³/h) for the P14.
- Static pressure: ARCTIC lists 6.7 mmH₂O for the P12 and 5.4 mmH₂O for the P14.
- Speed: The listed ranges are 450–3000 RPM for the P12 and 400–2500 RPM for the P14.
These are product-page specifications, not independent measurements of cooling, noise or performance in a particular PC. No reliable direct-test results for noise or cooling between these two models are established by the product and support information cited here, so a quietness or cooling winner cannot be named from these figures alone.

Check the fan and lighting connections separately
Both fans use a 4-pin PWM connection for fan control and a separate 3-pin 5 V A-RGB connection for lighting. Confirm that your motherboard or controller has compatible headers for both functions. Do not connect a 5 V A-RGB plug to a different-voltage lighting header; check the motherboard manual and connector labels.
The ARCTIC installation guide says a 3-pin fan connection is compatible with a 4-pin fan header, but PWM control is unavailable in that configuration. For PWM control, use the fan’s 4-pin connection on a compatible header.

- DIGITAL A-RGB: The 12 A-RGB LEDs placed along the fan hub and the transparent rotor, with its enclosed design, provide even and rich illumination
- EASY TO COMBINE: Both the fan and A-RGB cables have an integrated Y-splitter, making it even easier to retrofit and control additional fans
- OPTIMIZED FOR STATIC PRESSURE: Thanks to its high static pressure, the fan guarantees efficient cooling, even with increased air resistance. Suitable for use on heat sinks & radiators
- 200-2000 RPM (0 rpm <5 %): Thanks to 4-pin connector, the RPM can be regulated in a broad spectrum via PWM, noise is kept at minimum while maximum cooling performance is given when needed

Plan daisy-chaining and header loads
ARCTIC’s guide describes bridge modules for connecting adjacent fans. It says the P12 and P14 cables and bridge modules are interchangeable and compatible, which can simplify wiring when combining these models.

Treat those as guide limits, not a substitute for checking the actual current rating of your motherboard headers and the fans’ current requirements. Do not exceed the header ratings; consult your motherboard specifications before connecting multiple fans.

Mounting notes for cases and radiators
- ARCTIC’s guide specifies a PH2 Phillips screwdriver as the required tool.
- Radiator screws are not included with the fans. The guide says to use the screws supplied with the cooler if they pass through the fan and extend at least 1 mm beyond the thread.
- Before tightening radiator screws, verify their length and fit to avoid damaging the radiator.
See the ARCTIC BioniX P12/P14 A-RGB installation guide for its connection, bridge-module and mounting instructions.
Verdict: match the mount first
Pick the P12 when you need a compatible 120 mm fan and the P14 when you have a compatible 140 mm mount. Both offer PWM fan control and 5 V A-RGB lighting, but the listed airflow, speed and pressure figures do not establish real-world noise or cooling superiority. Check your available headers, their current limits and the mounting hardware before installation.
