The price difference, explained
Two different price figures exist, and they should not be merged.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Official starting price for the Nord 5: the OnePlus India product page says “From ₹33,999.”
- Observed store listings: an official OnePlus Experience Store page for Kurla West, Mumbai showed ₹31,999 for the Nord 5 and ₹54,999 for the OnePlus 13s.
On those observed listings, the 13s costs ₹23,000 more. That figure is not a launch-price comparison. The listings may differ in storage and RAM configuration, stock level, location, timing or current offers. Neither source confirms that both phones were priced in the same configuration at the same moment, so treat ₹23,000 as an indication of the gap, not a guaranteed difference you will pay.

Performance platform
The OnePlus 13s is named with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a higher-tier platform than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the Nord 5. On paper, that places the 13s above the Nord 5 in chip class. The product pages do not provide benchmark scores, so they do not show how large the real-world speed difference is in gaming, multitasking or sustained load. Anyone claiming a specific percentage advantage is going beyond what these pages support.
Display and handling
The Nord 5 is marketed with a 144 Hz AMOLED display. OnePlus’s page does not state its diagonal size, so a size comparison cannot be made from that source. The 13s is listed with a 6.32-inch display and weighs 185 g, which supports describing it as compact. To compare handling directly, you will need the Nord 5’s dimensions and weight from OnePlus’s specifications section, which were not reproduced in the product page text reviewed here.
Battery and charging
The Nord 5 has the larger rated battery at 6,800 mAh, compared with 5,850 mAh for the 13s. Both list 80 W charging. A larger capacity does not automatically mean longer runtime, because screen settings, processor efficiency, network conditions and software all affect how long a charge lasts. Charge time also depends on the charger, cable and battery state, so the rated 80 W figure alone does not tell you how long a full charge takes on either phone.
Rank #2
- 5G Enabled - The OnePlus Nord N20 is the perfect entry-level 5G phone, featuring premium specs and an affordable price. *5G compatible with most GSM service providers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Etc). Will not work with CDMA Carriers. Check with your service provider for compatibility.
- Display: Features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 128GB of storage and 68 minutes of battery life
- Camera: Includes a 5MP front camera and 5G connectivity for fast wireless speeds
- Memory: Comes with 6GB of RAM and a 4500mAh battery for extended use
- Security: Equipped with a fingerprint sensor for quick and secure access
Cameras
The two phones take different camera approaches. The Nord 5 advertises 50 MP front and rear cameras and 4K video at 60 fps. The 13s has a 50 MP main camera, a separate 50 MP telephoto lens with 2× optical zoom, and a 32 MP front camera. The 13s is the only one of the two with a telephoto lens described on its page, which matters if you often shoot at a closer-to-tele framing. Megapixel counts are not a measure of image quality, and no independent image comparison establishes a winner.
Software support
OnePlus states that the Nord 5 receives four Android versions and six years of security updates. The Nord 5 product page also describes “6 years of Fast and Smooth Certified system fluency,” which is OnePlus’s own wording and not an independent certification. The 13s product page reviewed for this comparison does not state a matching support period, so do not assume the two phones share the same commitment without checking OnePlus’s current support information.
Quick Recap
How to confirm the price before you buy
- Open the OnePlus Nord 5 page and the OnePlus 13s page and note the current listed prices for the same storage and RAM options.
- Compare only identical configurations. A price gap between a 12 GB and a 16 GB variant does not reflect the phone-to-phone difference.
- Check any offers separately, including bank or exchange offers, and note their terms and expiry dates.
- Confirm the seller, warranty and return policy on any retailer listing before purchase.
Which one fits which buyer
- Choose the Nord 5 if battery capacity, a 144 Hz AMOLED display and a lower observed price are your priorities, and you do not need a telephoto lens.
- Choose the OnePlus 13s if you want the higher-tier chip, a compact 6.32-inch body and a 2× telephoto camera, and you can accept the higher observed price.
