At the prices shown by 91mobiles on October 4, 2026, the OnePlus N6 5G was listed at ₹24,999 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999—a ₹3,000 gap. The Redmi’s official UK specifications confirm a larger, sharper 120Hz AMOLED display, while Xiaomi India promises longer software support. Which display is better?
On the published specifications, the Redmi has the stronger screen: Xiaomi UK lists a 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel at 2396 × 1080 and up to 120Hz. 91mobiles describes the OnePlus as a 6.8-inch 720 × 1570 LCD, also at 120Hz. The stated refresh-rate ceilings match, but the Redmi’s panel technology and resolution are higher. The OnePlus figures remain third-party-reported rather than manufacturer-confirmed.
Xiaomi Global additionally advertises 1800-nit peak brightness for the Redmi, but that figure is from its Global product page and should not be assumed to describe every regional SKU or everyday screen brightness. Xiaomi Global product page

Performance: specifications do not settle real-world speed
91mobiles attributes a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex and 4GB RAM to the OnePlus; Xiaomi lists the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 and 6GB RAM configurations for the UK Redmi. These names and memory figures alone do not establish which phone feels faster in daily use, gaming, or sustained workloads. No controlled benchmark results are available here, and performance also depends on software, configuration, and thermal behavior.
Cameras: check the regional Redmi model
For the UK Redmi, Xiaomi lists a 50MP main rear camera and a 16MP front camera. 91mobiles lists a 50MP rear and 8MP front camera for the OnePlus. Megapixel counts do not show image quality, and the available specifications do not establish comparative photo or video performance. There is also a source discrepancy: 91mobiles lists an 8MP Redmi front camera, whereas Xiaomi’s UK specification lists 16MP. For the UK SKU, use the manufacturer’s figure.

Battery, charging, and what comes in the box
For the UK Redmi, Xiaomi specifies a 7700mAh typical battery and 45W charging. Its India specification instead says 8000mAh typical, 45W wired charging, and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging; India also lists a 45W adapter in the box. UK buyers should not expect that adapter: Xiaomi says the UK package excludes a power adapter and recommends a 45W PD-capable or Xiaomi adapter. Package contents and network bands vary by region. Xiaomi’s Global page says the battery retains at least 80% of its health after 1,600 charge cycles, described as approximately six years of regular use. Xiaomi attributes this to theoretical calculations and internal laboratory testing; it is a manufacturer claim, not an independent longevity test or a guarantee of an individual phone’s battery life. Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the Redmi Note 17 5G if you want the better-on-paper display and can confirm the local model’s software policy, battery specification, and package contents. Xiaomi India’s advertised update commitment is four OS years and six security years.
- Consider the OnePlus only after verification if the lower reported price is compelling. Confirm that the N6 5G is an authentic, locally supported model and verify its specifications, warranty, configuration, and update policy with OnePlus or the seller.
- Compare like with like: match country, RAM and storage, seller, warranty, and live price. The ₹3,000 gap is only the difference between two 91mobiles headline snapshots accessed on October 4, 2026; it is not a guaranteed current saving.
