If Once Human disconnects with a “network anomaly” message or keeps crashing, start by recording exactly when it happens, then use the publisher’s relevant checks: verify network stability for connection problems, update drivers and repair the client for recurring crashes, and disconnect certain attached controllers if applicable. NetEase’s published guidance does not identify the cause of that exact disconnect message or confirm a dedicated fix, so no single step is guaranteed to resolve it.
First, narrow down what is failing
The phrase “network anomaly” alone does not establish whether the problem is your connection, the game client, or a game-side issue. Before changing settings, note the exact error text and when it appears. This gives you a clearer basis for troubleshooting and for a support report.

- Timing: Does it happen at launch, login, when entering a server, or during a session?
- Scope: Are other online services also having trouble, or is the issue limited to Once Human?
- Platform and recent changes: Record your platform and whether the issue began after a game update or a change to your setup.
- Repeatability: Note whether the same action reliably triggers the disconnect or crash.
These are diagnostic distinctions, not confirmed causes of the network-anomaly message.

If the problem is a disconnect or connection failure
NetEase’s Official Release FAQ, published July 9, 2024, advises checking network stability in its guidance for download or installation problems. That is general connection advice; it does not explain the in-game “network anomaly” message or confirm a fix for it.

If you use Wi-Fi and suspect an unstable wireless connection, testing with a wired connection can help determine whether Wi-Fi is contributing. Treat this as an optional diagnostic, not a publisher-verified solution. It will not address a game-side bug or a problem beyond your local network.
If the game crashes or shows graphical errors
For recurring crashes or graphical errors, NetEase’s FAQ recommends updating graphics or device drivers and repairing the game client. The FAQ does not specify a universal repair procedure, so use the repair option provided by your installed game client.

Check attached controllers when relevant
NetEase says: “Certain controllers, such as pedals and gearbox controls for driving games, or joysticks for flying games, may cause compatibility errors with Once Human.” If you have one of these connected, disconnect it and check whether the issue recurs. This is a targeted compatibility check, not a reason to remove unrelated devices.
Check whether an update addressed your specific symptom
Some crashes and freezes have been fixed through game updates, but those fixes apply to particular bugs rather than every crash or disconnect. For example, NetEase’s Version 2.0 notes, published July 15, 2025, list fixes for a crash involving certain fashion combinations and a freeze during scenario transfer. The 3.0.1 notes, published July 14, 2026, address a specific incorrect prompt after sign-in or scene switching. Neither example establishes a fix for an unrelated network-anomaly disconnect.

Check current official announcements for fixes that match your exact symptom and version. The 3.0.3 notes, published August 7, 2026, include specific bug fixes and a support route, but do not mention a general network-anomaly fix.

Include the exact error text, platform, when it occurs, whether it repeats, whether other online services are affected, and which troubleshooting steps you tried. These details describe the issue without assuming its cause.
