The model is covered in an Omega manual alongside the OO655X, OO656X, OO657X and OO686X. Because the manual assigns different function counts to different models, the details below refer specifically to the OO687X entries rather than to the range as a whole. Read the Omega instruction manual.

Omega’s manual lists seven functions for the OO687X: six cooking or utility modes, plus the light and zero/off positions. The names identify the available modes, but do not by themselves demonstrate cooking results.

- Zero/off: the selector’s off position.
- Light: the oven light function.
- Defrost: a defrost mode.
- Convection bake: a convection baking mode.
- Convection grill: a convection grilling mode.
- Grill: a grill mode.
- Bake: a bake mode.
- Convection roast: a convection roasting mode.
The manual’s seven-function count includes the listed operating positions as presented in its model-specific table. It is a feature count from the manual, not a measured performance statistic.
How the controls and clock work
For the OO686X and OO687X, the manual describes an electronic control panel with a time-and-temperature display and two knobs. A push-and-shuttle control handles time and temperature settings, including clock and automatic time functions; a separate selector chooses oven modes.

Set the time of day
- Turn the mode selector to ZERO.
- Use the time-and-temperature control to change the flashing hour value.
- Push the control to move from the hour setting to the minutes.
- Turn the control to change the flashing minutes value.
The manual also covers the minute minder and automatic time functions. Consult its complete control instructions for those settings and their full sequences; the steps above describe only the time-of-day procedure.

Replacement clock timer: a compatibility lead
All Major Appliances lists part 12540802 as an Omega touch-control clock timer and includes OO687X among the models it says the part fits. Treat that listing as a lead, not a guarantee of fit: confirm the oven’s rating label and compare the existing timer and part details with the seller before ordering. Check the retailer’s 12540802 listing. A current Amazon listing or availability was not verified.
