The Omega OCI64Z is a 60 cm, four-zone induction cooktop rated at 7,400 W. Its published specifications cover a 560 × 490 mm bench cut-out, hardwired installation and induction-compatible cookware. Omega lists a 24-month parts-and-labour warranty. CHOICE labels the model discontinued, but its public page does not disclose detailed test scores—so there is not enough public evidence to call this a performance-tested recommendation.

Omega rates the cooktop’s total power at 7,400 W. The manual lists four zones with different sizes and nominal and boost ratings:
| Zone | Nominal / boost power | Zone diameter | Minimum pan detection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front left | 1,850 W / 2,100 W | 215 mm | 120 mm |
| Rear left | 1,400 W / 1,850 W | 175 mm | 100 mm |
| Front right | 1,850 W / 2,100 W | 215 mm | 120 mm |
| Rear right | 1,400 W / 1,850 W | 175 mm | 100 mm |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independent cooking-test results. The manual notes that available power can vary with a pan’s dimensions and material. It also says nominal power on a zone may be reduced when boost is used on other zones to keep the cooktop within its total-power rating. See Omega’s OCI64Z instruction manual and specification sheet.

What size cut-out does the Omega OCI64Z need?
Omega lists a bench cut-out of 560 × 490 mm. The overall cooktop dimensions are 590 mm wide and 520 mm deep. Published height differs: the specification sheet says 53 mm, while the instruction manual says 58 mm. Omega warns that product specifications and sizes may change, so measure the actual appliance and confirm the installation details before cutting the bench.
| Measurement | Published value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Bench opening | 560 × 490 mm | Omega specification sheet and instruction manual |
| Overall width × depth | 590 × 520 mm | Omega specification sheet and instruction manual |

What electrical and installation requirements matter?
The manual specifies 7,400 W total rated power and direct wiring to mains. Omega’s specification sheet lists 220–240 V, 50 Hz and a maximum current of 32 A. This is not a plug-in replacement: have an authorised installer confirm the circuit capacity, ventilation, clearances and the appliance’s actual dimensions before installation. Omega says installation and commissioning must be carried out by an authorised person; it also warns that faulty installation can cause damage for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility.

- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
The manual says cabinetry beside the cooktop must withstand a temperature rise of at least 100°C above room ambient while the appliance is operating. It also describes ventilation requirements. Follow the full manual and applicable local requirements for a specific installation rather than relying on these summary figures.
What pans work on an induction cooktop?
Use pans whose manufacturer identifies them as induction-compatible, and check that each pan’s base is large enough for the zone. The OCI64Z’s two larger zones have a stated minimum detection diameter of 120 mm; the smaller zones specify 100 mm. Induction relies on magnetic cookware, so a pan’s material label alone is not enough to assume compatibility—some stainless-steel cookware works, while aluminium cookware generally needs an induction-ready base. Appliances Online also describes induction cooktops as compatible with cookware made from magnetic material; see its OCI64Z product page.

Is the Omega OCI64Z discontinued?
CHOICE’s public listing labels the OCI64Z discontinued, and Omega includes it in its 60 cm cooktop archive. Those are strong signs that it is a historical model, but a retailer product page by itself does not establish whether stock is currently available or whether manufacture continues. Check the seller and Omega for current availability and price before making a purchase decision.

What do the available review results actually show?
CHOICE’s public page lists a $1,099 price snapshot, a two-year warranty, four zones, 7.4 kW maximum output, product dimensions of 59 × 52 cm and installation dimensions of 56 × 49 cm. It indicates that testing was conducted in 2023 or earlier. Its expert rating, cooking scores, reliability and satisfaction scores, and detailed pros and cons are behind member access. The public listing therefore does not support a performance verdict or a claim that CHOICE recommends the cooktop.
The figures above describe published product specifications and a price listing, not independently measured cooking performance. If comparing the OCI64Z with another four-zone induction model, the useful points to check are cut-out and body dimensions, electrical load and wiring, zone sizes and power management, controls and safety features, warranty and service support, and actual current availability. The cited sources do not provide a scored comparison with another model.
