Notebookcheck reported on 8 October 2026 that an OM SYSTEM presentation appeared to show two updated lenses: a M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 II and a M.Zuiko Digital ED 40–150mm f/4.5–5.6 R II. Neither lens has been formally announced in the report, and it provides no confirmed specifications or release timing.
Which lenses were reportedly shown?
Notebookcheck says an OM SYSTEM presentation displayed two lens names. The report attributes the sighting to an OM SYSTEM YouTube presentation; the video was not independently reviewed for this account, so the models should be treated as reported appearances, not verified product announcements.

| Reported model | Type and role | What the report establishes |
|---|---|---|
| M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f/1.8 II | Prime lens; a portrait-oriented focal length | Notebookcheck describes it as apparently similar in appearance to the 45mm f/1.8 Olympus launched in 2013. The report does not identify confirmed changes. |
| M.Zuiko Digital ED 40–150mm f/4.5–5.6 R II | Telephoto zoom | The displayed name includes an aperture marking that may be a typo: Notebookcheck says it appears to show f/4.0 at 40mm, as on the predecessor. |
The 45mm would be a successor to an existing lens, not a lens shown to have launched in 2013. That year refers to the original model’s launch, according to Notebookcheck.

What is new about the 45mm f/1.8 II?
Nothing about its changes is confirmed. Notebookcheck says the apparent model looks similar to the original, but does not establish whether its optics, autofocus, coatings, weather protection, size, or other features have changed. The report speculates about possible updates such as a newer autofocus motor, weather sealing, or different coatings; these are possibilities, not product details.

OM SYSTEM’s formal release of the 17mm F1.8 II and 25mm F1.8 II on 6 February 2025 shows that the company has announced other II-series lenses and stated that those models comply with the Micro Four Thirds System standard. It does not confirm either lens in this report: OM SYSTEM’s 2025 announcement.
Is the 40–150mm zoom’s aperture marking correct?
That is unclear. The reported name says f/4.5–5.6, while Notebookcheck says markings shown in the presentation appear to indicate f/4.0 at the 40mm end, as on the preceding M.Zuiko Digital ED 40–150mm f/4.0–5.6 R. The report flags the mismatch as a likely typo; it does not establish the final specification of an II model.

What does this mean for OM PEN owners?
The established compatibility context concerns the older lenses, not the reported updates. OM SYSTEM’s PEN-F manual says to use lenses designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras and lists both the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45mm f1.8 and M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40–150mm f4.0–5.6 R as compatible. That manual does not verify compatibility of either rumored II lens with the newly launched OM PEN. Check the new camera’s current official compatibility information before buying an unannounced lens.

OM SYSTEM describes its existing 75mm F1.8 as a portrait lens with a 150mm 35mm-equivalent focal length; it is a separate, established option rather than one of the reported lenses: OM SYSTEM’s 75mm F1.8 product page.

When will the lenses be released, and what will they cost?
Notebookcheck’s 8 October 2026 report gives no confirmed release timing, price, final specifications, dimensions, or weather-protection details for either model. It also does not establish that either lens is available to buy. Until OM SYSTEM publishes product information, treat names and specifications seen in the presentation as provisional.
