For a 24/7 Tamil songs stream with static or slowly changing artwork, start with OBS at 720p30 or 1080p30, use YouTube-supported encoding with CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, and make sure your upload connection can sustain the bitrate with about 20% headroom. Use a looping local-file playlist, test it unlisted in YouTube Live Control Room, and confirm you have permission to livestream every song and recording. OBS can run the stream from your computer, but it does not by itself provide unattended failover if that computer, network, or playlist stops.
Choose 720p30 or 1080p30
For an audio-led broadcast, the picture is usually artwork rather than fast action. Choose resolution based on the sharpness you want and the upload capacity OBS can reliably use. YouTube’s current H.264 guidance gives these minimum and recommended ingestion bitrates for the two practical starting options:

| Output | YouTube H.264 bitrate guidance | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps minimum; 8 Mbps recommended | Choose it when available upload capacity is tighter or a lower encoder load is preferable. |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps minimum; 14 Mbps recommended | Choose it when you want sharper artwork and the connection can sustain the higher bitrate. |
These are YouTube ingestion recommendations, not a tested preset for a particular PC or network. Recheck YouTube’s encoder settings before configuring the broadcast, since its guidance can change.
Measure upload speed on the actual connection OBS will use, and account for other devices and services sharing it. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload headroom; a network disruption can still break a stream. If the connection cannot sustain the chosen output, lower the bitrate or resolution rather than running at the edge of capacity. See YouTube’s streaming tips for its bandwidth guidance.

Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Configure OBS output and audio
In OBS, open Settings > Output and configure the streaming encoder for a YouTube-supported mode. Use constant bitrate (CBR) and set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds. YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds. Select the bitrate for your resolution from the table above, then check that the encoder and chosen output are supported by your setup.
Open Settings > Video and set the output to the resolution and frame rate you intend to stream, such as 1280×720 at 30 fps or 1920×1080 at 30 fps. These are starting options, not a guarantee that every computer can encode them reliably. If OBS struggles, reduce output demands and test again.

For stereo, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 audio at 44.1 kHz and recommends 128 kbps. Set the audio format and bitrate in OBS’s audio/output settings, then check the mixer meter during playback and listen to the preview for clipping, silence, or imbalance. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure version of RTMP, where available; select it when configuring the YouTube service/server in OBS.

One song or one continuous file: Media Source
- In the scene you plan to stream, select Sources > + > Media Source.
- Choose the local audio or video file. OBS’s Media Source supports common local formats including MP3, AAC, OGG, and WAV for audio.
- Enable Loop to repeat the file. Make sure the source is visible and active in the scene.
- Play the source and confirm the OBS audio meter responds. If the source is hidden, inactive, or not producing audio, it will not provide the intended stream soundtrack.
Several songs: VLC Video playlist
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. OBS’s VLC Video source requires VLC, and OBS specifies that its bitness must match: 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC.
- In the streaming scene, choose Sources > + > VLC Video, then add the local song files to its playlist.
- Enable playlist looping; OBS documentation says Loop Playlist is on by default. Enable shuffle only if you want the order to change between plays.
- Keep the source visible and active, then verify playback and audio-meter activity before going live.
The exact OBS labels can shift between releases. OBS’s official Media Sources and Sources Guide pages document these source types. This setup is based on local files; it does not establish that capturing a third-party music service will work continuously or that its playback may be rebroadcast.

Set up YouTube Live and test before going public
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or configure the broadcast. Set its visibility to Unlisted for a private test.
- Copy the stream key from YouTube’s live setup and enter it in OBS under Settings > Stream. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to stream to your channel.
- Start the OBS stream and check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that the event is accessible, the artwork appears as intended, and audio is present at a sensible level.
- Let the test run long enough to confirm that the playlist advances or loops correctly. Review YouTube’s stream-health messages and OBS for dropped frames or other warnings.
- When the test is satisfactory, stop the test and configure the public broadcast as intended. At launch, check the preview and health messages again.
YouTube advises testing with audio and movement similar to the planned broadcast, reviewing stream-health messages, and monitoring audio and video quality. Its encoder guidance says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” For a long run, decide in advance who will notice a failed connection, stalled playlist, muted audio, or warning and what they should do. If local recording is enabled, check that the archive file is growing.
Clear the music rights before streaming
Before broadcasting, confirm that you have permission for both the musical compositions and the specific sound recordings, and that the rights cover a YouTube livestream in the relevant territory. A track being available online or stored on your computer does not establish permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube’s live-stream settings guidance calls out audio and video rights. Check the relevant rights holder or license for every track; no general OBS setting can clear a song for you.

Troubleshoot common 24/7 stream problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or change |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube reports poor stream health or the stream disconnects | Bitrate exceeds reliable upload capacity, shared network traffic, or a connection disruption | Check actual upload capacity and competing traffic. Reduce bitrate or resolution, and preserve YouTube’s recommended headroom. |
| Artwork appears but there is no music | Source is muted, inactive, hidden, or not playing | Confirm the playlist source is visible and active, start playback, check the OBS mixer meter, and listen to the preview. |
| The same song repeats instead of the full set | A single-file Media Source is being looped instead of a multi-file playlist | Use VLC Video for several files and check its playlist contents and Loop Playlist setting. |
| VLC Video is missing or unavailable in OBS | VLC is not installed or its bitness does not match OBS | Install VLC with matching bitness; OBS specifically requires 64-bit VLC with 64-bit OBS. |
| The stream stops when nobody is watching the computer | OBS depends on the local computer and network remaining operational; the source evidence does not establish an unattended failover design | Arrange monitoring and a recovery plan for the PC, internet connection, OBS, and playlist, or use a cloud service designed to keep the broadcast running. |
| YouTube flags or restricts the broadcast | The channel may lack rights to the composition or recording, or the license may not cover the stream or territory | Review the applicable rights and YouTube notices; do not assume a locally stored or publicly available song is cleared. |
