Short answer: the iPhone 18 Pro is a documented 2026 product, while the Nubia V90 Pro remains a leak-only phone as of October 19, 2026. Apple has published the iPhone’s processor, cameras, storage options, operating system and protection rating. Nubia has not confirmed a product page, final specifications, price, release date or markets. That means an honest camera or speed winner cannot be declared yet. The useful comparison today is between Apple’s verified feature set and the specific things Nubia still needs to prove.
What is actually available to buy?
The two names do not have the same evidential status. Apple introduced iPhone 18 Pro in 2026 and documents it in its own product material. Reports dated October 18 and 19, 2026 describe promotional images that appear to show a Nubia V90 Pro, but Nubia has not officially announced the handset. A leaked image can suggest a design target; it cannot establish a retail specification, regional availability or promised support period.

| Question | iPhone 18 Pro | Nubia V90 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Official announcement | Introduced by Apple in 2026 | Not announced by Nubia; details come from leak reporting dated October 18–19, 2026 |
| Launch date and markets | Documented as a 2026 model | Not stated; no confirmed launch date or sales regions |
| Price | Not included in the supplied product facts | Not stated |
| Processor | Apple A20 Pro | Not stated |
| Camera information | Confirmed three-camera 48MP Pro Fusion system | Only a leaked 108MP main-camera claim; lens arrangement and supporting hardware are not confirmed |
| Software | Ships with iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence | Operating-system version, Android skin and update policy are not confirmed |
| Storage | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB | Leak reports up to 512GB; final configurations are unverified |
| Durability rating | IP68 protection | IP rating not stated |
This distinction matters when reading comparisons. A confirmed specification can be used to plan a purchase; a leaked specification should be treated as a lead for questions to ask after launch, not as a reason to place an order.

What Apple has specified
iPhone 18 Pro uses a 48MP Pro Fusion rear-camera system with three cameras: a variable-aperture 48MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide and a 48MP telephoto. Apple lists optical-quality 2x and 8x telephoto options and up to 40x digital zoom. Sensor-shift stabilisation is included, as are Pro controls, ProRAW capture, Night mode and 48MP macro photography.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
The variable aperture is important because it gives the main camera a physical way to balance light gathering and depth-of-field effects rather than relying solely on software. The three 48MP modules also give the phone native wide, ultrawide and telephoto viewpoints. “Optical-quality” is Apple’s term for the listed 2x and 8x options; it should not be read as a promise that every intermediate zoom step is optically lossless. Digital zoom remains a separate, processed mode and is listed to 40x.
What the V90 Pro leak does—and does not—say
Leaked promotional material points to a 108MP main camera. It does not establish the sensor’s physical size, aperture, optical stabilisation, autofocus method, ultrawide or telephoto cameras, video formats, frame rates, raw-photo support or image-processing pipeline. A higher megapixel count alone cannot show that a phone will resolve more detail in ordinary photographs: lens quality, sensor area, stabilisation, exposure processing and focus performance all affect the result.
There is also no controlled retail-unit review establishing V90 Pro image quality. Until a finished phone is sold and tested, claims about night photography, skin tones, motion capture, zoom clarity or video quality would be speculation.
Photography features that still need a head-to-head test
- Lens coverage: verify whether the Nubia has only the reported main camera or adds ultrawide and telephoto modules.
- Sensor and aperture: record the exact sensor dimensions and aperture for each rear camera, not just megapixel totals.
- Stabilisation: check for optical or sensor-shift stabilisation and whether it works in every video mode.
- Video: compare supported resolutions, frame rates, HDR or log options, audio capture and recording limits.
- Processing: shoot the same scenes in daylight, indoor light, night, backlight and moving-subject conditions, then inspect detail, noise, colour and highlight recovery at full size.
- Zoom: test each native focal length before comparing digitally enlarged images.
Authenticity and computational photography
iPhone 18 Pro ships with Apple Intelligence and includes Apple Reference Image. Apple says this feature can sign every pixel captured by the main camera to help prove an image’s authenticity. That is a provenance feature, not a guarantee that a photograph is aesthetically better, but it gives the iPhone a documented approach to showing whether an image has been altered after capture.
No equivalent V90 Pro authenticity feature or computational-photography system has been confirmed. Nubia may eventually document one, but readers should wait for a final specification sheet and working software before treating any promotional camera claim as comparable.
Camera verdict
On documented capability, the iPhone offers a complete multi-camera system with stabilisation, raw capture and named zoom modes. The V90 Pro currently offers only an unverified 108MP main-camera figure. That is not enough evidence to call either phone the better camera. A fair verdict requires a retail Nubia unit and controlled photographs and video made with the same test method.
Performance: A20 Pro is known; the Nubia chipset is not
Apple’s documented architecture
The iPhone 18 Pro uses Apple’s A20 Pro. Apple lists a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, a dual 16-core Neural Engine and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Apple describes A20 Pro as “a powerhouse for everything from more advanced on-device AI workloads to demanding games.” That statement is a manufacturer claim, not an independent benchmark, but the architecture and feature list are confirmed.
The combination points to several capabilities readers may care about: CPU-heavy apps can use the six CPU cores; graphics workloads can use the seven-core GPU and ray-tracing hardware; and on-device machine-learning tasks can use the Neural Engine and Neural Accelerators. Actual battery drain, sustained frame rates and heat still depend on the application, software version, ambient temperature and workload duration.

Why no speed ranking is possible yet
Nubia has not confirmed a V90 Pro processor, memory configuration, cooling design or operating-system version. No benchmark result from a finished V90 Pro has been established. Without a chipset and a reproducible test, saying that the Nubia is faster, slower or equal to A20 Pro would turn an unknown into a fact.
Leaked storage capacity also cannot be used as a proxy for performance. More storage does not identify the processor, and a large advertised memory option does not reveal sustained performance under heat.
How to run a fair performance comparison after release
- Identify the exact retail variants. Record model number, region, RAM, storage and software build for both phones.
- Update both devices. Install the latest public system and application versions, then note the build numbers and date.
- Use the same workloads. Run identical CPU, GPU, browser, video-export and on-device-AI tests, with the same settings and network conditions.
- Measure sustained behaviour. Repeat a demanding game or render for a long enough session to expose thermal throttling rather than relying on a short burst score.
- Record temperatures and battery loss. A peak score without heat and endurance data does not describe everyday performance.
- Report methodology with results. State test versions, frame-rate settings, room conditions and whether each phone was plugged in or using a cooling accessory.
Until those details exist, the defensible conclusion is that iPhone 18 Pro has a published performance platform and V90 Pro performance cannot yet be compared fairly with A20 Pro.

iPhone 18 Pro’s starting software
Apple says iPhone 18 Pro ships with iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence. The operating-system version is therefore known at launch, as is Apple’s inclusion of its on-device and cloud-assisted intelligence features where supported by the service and region. Apple has not supplied a Nubia-equivalent software specification in the material available for this comparison.
What is unknown about Nubia
Nubia has not confirmed the V90 Pro’s Android version, interface or software name, number of major Android upgrades, security-patch duration, patch frequency or regional feature differences. It has also not stated whether carrier models will receive the same updates as unlocked models. Those omissions are significant for anyone planning to keep a phone for several years.
Do not infer V90 Pro support from another Nubia handset. Update commitments can vary by model, market, carrier and release date. The only reliable answer will be a written policy attached to the V90 Pro’s official product or support page.
Questions to ask before buying
- Which Android version is installed on the first retail batch?
- How many Android-version upgrades are guaranteed, and through what date?
- How long will security patches continue, and how often are they scheduled?
- Do global, European, Asian and carrier variants receive identical firmware?
- Are bootloader, banking-app and enterprise-management requirements supported?
- Which artificial-intelligence, camera and connectivity features are region-limited?
For readers who require a predictable support horizon, the absence of these answers is itself a purchasing risk. It is not evidence that support will be short; it means the commitment has not been established.

Display, storage and physical features
The confirmed and leaked numbers show different design priorities, but they should not be presented as an apples-to-apples specification sheet until Nubia publishes final documentation.
Rank #3

| Feature | iPhone 18 Pro | Nubia V90 Pro leak |
|---|---|---|
| Display size | 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED | 6.75 inches reported; unverified |
| Refresh rate | Adaptive refresh up to 120Hz | Not stated |
| Brightness | Not stated in the supplied Apple facts | Up to 1,000 nits reported; unverified |
| Storage | 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB | Up to 512GB reported; unverified |
| Thickness | Not stated in the supplied Apple facts | 7.7mm reported; unverified |
| Port and audio | Not stated in the supplied Apple facts | USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack reported; unverified |
| Touch operation | Not stated in the supplied Apple facts | Wet-hand touch support reported; unverified |
| Water and dust protection | IP68 | IP rating not stated |
A larger leaked display could appeal to readers who prefer more screen area, while the iPhone’s adaptive 120Hz specification describes how its refresh rate can vary. Those observations do not establish which panel is brighter, more accurate, more efficient or easier to use outdoors. The Nubia brightness figure is an “up to” leak claim, not a certified sustained measurement.
The reported 3.5mm jack and wet-hand touch support could matter to specific users, but both remain unverified. Check the final regional model because ports, radio bands and accessories can differ between markets. Nubia has not confirmed 5G bands for this phone.
Availability, price and purchase risk
There is no confirmed V90 Pro launch date, price or market list. A listing, social-media image or retailer page appearing before an official announcement should not be treated as proof that the model is genuine, supported in your country or covered by a valid local warranty.
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro is the only one of these two phones with a documented 2026 introduction in the supplied facts. Even for an official product, check the seller’s region, stock status, warranty terms and return window before paying. Do not buy a supposed V90 Pro on the assumption that a leak equals a shipping product.
Which phone fits which decision today?
Choose the iPhone 18 Pro when certainty is the priority
- You need a confirmed phone rather than a rumoured model.
- You want a documented three-camera system with ProRAW, named optical-quality zoom options and sensor-shift stabilisation.
- You need a published processor architecture for demanding games or on-device AI.
- You want iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence available as the starting software.
- You value a stated IP68 protection rating and storage choices extending to 2TB.
Wait for official Nubia information when its possible advantages matter
- A 6.75-inch display, headphone jack, wet-hand touch operation or 7.7mm body would be important to you, but you are willing to verify those claims first.
- You are interested in a 108MP main camera and want to see independent image tests rather than rely on the megapixel number.
- You need to know the processor, battery, charging speed, 5G bands, price and update policy before deciding.
- You can postpone purchase until Nubia publishes a product page and retailers show a supported regional model.
There is no responsible reason to recommend the leaked phone over the iPhone on camera or performance today. The right interim choice depends on whether you need a phone now or are prepared to wait for evidence.
Checklist for a genuine future comparison
When Nubia confirms the V90 Pro, use this checklist instead of comparing headline megapixels or leaked renders:
- Camera hardware: record every lens, sensor size, aperture, stabilisation method and native focal length.
- Camera software: check raw formats, computational modes, video codecs, HDR, frame rates and update support for the camera app.
- Performance: identify chipset and RAM, then compare sustained benchmarks and thermals using the same methodology on both phones.
- Screen: verify resolution, adaptive-refresh behaviour, measured brightness, colour modes and durability glass.
- Power: confirm battery capacity, wired and wireless charging speeds, charger inclusion and independent endurance results.
- Software longevity: obtain the number of Android upgrades, security-support end date and regional exceptions in writing.
- Connectivity and ownership: check 5G bands, eSIM or SIM configuration, USB standard, warranty coverage and repair options for your country.
- Price and stock: compare like-for-like storage variants at the same time, including tax, carrier restrictions and return terms.
That process will turn the current leak-versus-official question into a real product comparison. Until then, the evidence supports a clear distinction in certainty, not a winner in photographic quality or speed.
