Independent reviewers give it high marks for speed, streaming, privacy and security. Its latest reported no-logs assessment is recent but covers a defined period, while renewal costs, feature tiers, connection timestamps and app usability deserve scrutiny. Whether it suits you depends on the features you need, your budget and the terms offered at checkout.
What NordVPN offers
NordVPN is a paid VPN and digital security service. Its core function is to encrypt a device’s connection through a VPN server, changing the network path and masking the user’s IP address from destination services. The company’s 2026 review describes additional tools, including a kill switch intended to block traffic if the VPN disconnects, malware scanning through its next-generation antivirus, and post-quantum encryption. These are vendor descriptions; they do not independently verify every feature or configuration.

A VPN is not the same as complete anonymity. NordVPN notes that it cannot stop someone identifying you from information you choose to publish on social media. The service changes what network information destinations see; it cannot erase identifying details you disclose yourself.

Does NordVPN really keep no logs?
NordVPN’s latest reported no-logs assurance engagement was performed by Deloitte Lithuania from November 10 to December 12, 2025; the report was issued on December 12. NordVPN says Deloitte examined standard VPN, Double VPN, obfuscated, and Onion Over VPN server types. The company reports that Deloitte concluded its IT systems and supporting operations were designed and implemented in line with its no-logs statement. NordVPN says the full report is available to account holders.

NordVPN characterizes the period explicitly: “The assurance engagement took place between November 10 and December 12, 2025, with Deloitte assessing our systems exactly as they operated during that period.” That timing is important. An assurance engagement provides evidence about the systems and operations examined at that point; it does not establish that nothing changed afterward or guarantee every future configuration. Nor does “no logs” mean the service retains no account, billing or operational data of any kind.
The company says its earlier no-logs reviews were conducted by PwC Switzerland and later reviews by Deloitte. The latest engagement offers meaningful independent assurance, but readers should interpret it as scoped, time-bound evidence rather than an unlimited promise.

TechRadar also reported the West Coast Labs malware result and quoted NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis saying, “These results tell us the product is doing its job where it matters.” That is vendor commentary, not an independent conclusion.

Security.org reported an average 80% speed drop when using Double VPN in its tests and recommends reserving it for situations where the extra routing is wanted. This is a reviewer observation, not a prediction for every user or connection. Double VPN may be useful to someone who values that additional routing, but the performance tradeoff is worth considering.
How much does NordVPN cost?
Security.org’s 2026 review lists the following prices for the United States. The monthly equivalents on annual and two-year plans are averages for those subscription periods, not month-to-month prices. Prices can vary with geography, promotions, checkout channel and renewal; confirm the total upfront charge and renewal amount before subscribing.

How many devices can you use?
Security.org reports that NordVPN permits up to 10 simultaneous devices. It describes configuring the VPN on a router as a workaround that can provide coverage to devices connected through that router. Router-level setup depends on the model: confirm that it supports VPN-client functionality and that NordVPN provides setup support for it. No particular router model is established as compatible here.

Those observations may matter most if you want a simple interface or a particular security feature without upgrading. Review the plan’s feature list and, where possible, the app experience on your own devices before committing.
