NinjaOne describes Katana AI as an agentic assistant that turns operational data into guided troubleshooting steps. Separately, an MCP server for NinjaOne RMM is listed in the Official MCP Registry. The available evidence does not establish that NinjaOne formally combines the two, that they share data, or that the server is an official NinjaOne product.

What is NinjaOne Katana AI?

NinjaOne describes Katana AI as “an agentic assistant built into NinjaOne that turns operational data into guided steps, helping resolve issues faster.” That is the company’s description of its intended role, not a measured result: the cited materials provide no quantified evidence that Katana AI reduces resolution time.

The idea is to help IT teams use operational information to work through issues. NinjaOne positions its wider platform for IT teams and managed service providers, with endpoint management, patching, backup, and remote access among its stated capabilities. Those broader platform features are context, not specific Katana AI functions.

Is Katana AI available in NinjaOne?

NinjaOne’s article about version 15.0 lists Katana AI as an Early Access feature. The company says customers can explore Early Access through their Account Manager. The article does not establish general availability or eligibility for any particular account, so customers should confirm access directly with NinjaOne.

NinjaOne says Katana AI includes role-based access controls and a kill switch. The cited release article does not explain the detailed permission model, data governance, audit behavior, or broader security controls; those details should not be inferred from the two controls it names.

Does NinjaOne have an MCP server?

The Official MCP Registry lists io.github.wyre-technology/ninjaone-mcp, an MCP server for NinjaOne RMM. The listing describes its scope as devices, organizations, alerts, and tickets. This confirms a registry listing, but not that NinjaOne authored, operates, supports, or endorses the server.

A separate repository from WYRE-AI also documents a NinjaOne MCP server. It provides third-party implementation and deployment information, not confirmation of a NinjaOne-supported product. Teams considering it should verify who maintains it and what support, permissions, and operational responsibilities apply.

Are Katana AI and the MCP server integrated?

No formal combination or direct integration is established by the cited sources. NinjaOne’s 15.0 release article discusses Katana AI, while the registry and WYRE-AI repository describe MCP server activity separately. The evidence does not show that Katana AI can invoke the server, that the server supplies data to Katana AI, or that either shares a data path with the other.

That distinction matters in practice. Katana AI is presented as an in-platform assistant for guided steps; the registry-listed MCP server is a separate tool interface with a stated scope covering four categories of NinjaOne RMM information. Their possible complementarity should not be mistaken for a confirmed integration.

What should an IT team verify before relying on either?

  • Katana AI access: Ask the NinjaOne Account Manager whether Early Access is available for your account and what its terms are.
  • MCP server provenance: Confirm the server’s maintainer, release and support arrangements, and whether NinjaOne officially supports it.
  • Permissions and actions: Determine exactly what data the MCP server can read and what actions, if any, it can perform, then map those permissions to your internal access requirements.
  • Operational controls: Check how activity is logged and audited, how credentials are handled, and how access can be revoked or the service disabled.
  • Integration status: Ask whether NinjaOne has announced an official connection between Katana AI and an MCP server; do not assume one exists based on the separate announcements and listings.
