What is the Ninja Prepi?
Prepi is presented as a meal-prep system, not simply a conventional food processor with a different name. Its motor pod attaches to the top of the lid rather than forming a heavy base under the bowl. The setup is modular: the review describes two bowls, storage lids, a chopping-and-purée blade, slicing/shredding and crinkle-cut discs, and a three-part feed chute.

The distinction is useful because the product is designed around changing containers and attachments across prep tasks. The removable pod is the power unit; the bowls and lids are also part of the workflow, not just a single processing vessel.
What can it do?
According to Vachon’s CNET review, the system has five motor settings or modes: chop, pulse, low, high, and disc. The described included attachments cover chopping and puréeing, slicing and shredding, and crinkle-cutting. Dicing requires the separate Dicing Kit unless a particular package includes it.

The review says the slicing/shredding and crinkle-cut discs fit the spindle in either bowl. It describes the Dicing Kit as fitting inside the larger bowl without the spindle. Why the two-bowl workflow matters
Vachon identifies the two-bowl arrangement as Prepi’s main appeal. You can prepare separate ingredients or recipes without having to empty and wash the same bowl between tasks. The bowls can also be used to serve or store prepared food with their lids, according to the review.

That can suit a prep session involving several ingredients or batches. It does not establish that Prepi is better than food processors generally: it is a different workflow, and whether it helps depends on how often you need separate bowls and the included attachments.
What the review reports about handling and cleanup
Cleanup
The review says every component except the motor pod can go in the dishwasher. That makes the removable power unit an important boundary: keep it out of the dishwasher and follow the current product instructions for cleaning it.

Things that may feel awkward
- The bowls have no handles, which Vachon found less secure when scraping food out.
- The lid clips sometimes needed adjustment to close correctly. Vachon described the fit as fussy when the motor pod was attached.
- The bowl shape could leave some ingredients outside the blade’s reach, so the reviewer sometimes had to stop and scrape the sides down.
- The separate components do not nest neatly, and the bowls do not fit inside one another; the optional dicing attachment adds more pieces to store.

Is Ninja Prepi the right kind of chopper?
Prepi is worth considering if your priority is keeping multiple prep tasks separate, using the bowls for storage or serving, and having several cutting styles in one modular set. It may be less appealing if you want a handle on the bowl, a simple latching experience, compact nested storage, or a single conventional work-bowl setup.

Calling it a food processor is not necessarily wrong as a broad description of what some attachments do, but it misses the product’s defining design and workflow. “Meal-prep system” better captures the two bowls, detachable top-mounted motor, storage lids, and interchangeable accessories.
