The Next Level Racing Flight Simulator MSFS Edition is a sturdy, adjustable cockpit frame with a notably comfortable seat—not a complete flight-sim setup. TweakTown’s hands-on review rated it 92% overall, praising its comfort and hardware mounts while flagging its $899 price context, large footprint, lack of an integrated monitor stand, and a center-pole lock that may need retightening. It makes the most sense for sim pilots who want a dedicated, configurable seat-and-mount platform and have separately budgeted for controls and display support.
What the MSFS Edition includes—and what it does not
The Flight Simulator Cockpit Microsoft Flight Simulator Edition, model NLR-S044, is a physical cockpit frame and seat developed by Next Level Racing in collaboration with Microsoft Flight Simulator. It is not the simulator software or an electronics bundle. Next Level Racing explicitly says electronics and accessories are not included.

The core appeal is a padded PU-leather seat with an adjustable lumbar-support mechanism, plus repositionable mounting locations intended to accommodate different flight-control layouts. The manufacturer describes the rig for commercial, general aviation, combat, and space simulation, and names Honeycomb, MOZA, Thrustmaster, and Logitech among compatible peripheral brands. That broad brand-level compatibility does not guarantee that every model will fit every plate: check the mounting pattern, dimensions, and any adapter requirement for your specific yoke, stick, throttle, and pedals.

How it performed in TweakTown’s hands-on review
TweakTown Hardware Editor Kris Butterill published the review on October 2, 2026, after several days flying scenarios in DCS World and Microsoft Flight Simulator. His tested hardware included a MOZA AB6 force-feedback unit and MOZA MTQ throttle; he also mounted a Thrustmaster HOTAS WARTHOG MKII on the center mount. His observations describe those configurations, not every possible peripheral combination.
Mount stability and adjustability
With the tested MOZA force-feedback setup, the reviewer found little to no distracting flex at the side mount. The center mount supported the tested Thrustmaster controls well, and its height adjustment was useful. The qualification is the tilting front/center pole: its lock may need occasional tightening, and the pole could flex somewhat. An included support bracket is available to brace it.

Seat comfort and assembly
The reviewer found the seat comfortable during extended sessions, appreciated the lumbar adjustment, and said the PU leather was easy to clean. These are one reviewer’s impressions, not a durability study or a guarantee that the seat will suit every body type.

Assembly was straightforward overall, though attaching the seat to the frame alone was somewhat fiddly. The many bolts that enable adjustment can also make repositioning tedious; that is less of a concern once the rig is dialed in.

Scores and practical drawbacks
TweakTown scored the cockpit 92% overall, with 92% for performance, 90% for quality, 96% for features, and 89% for value. These are that publication’s scores from one review, not an aggregate or a broader market reliability measure.
The reviewer’s main setup drawbacks were the substantial floor space required and the absence of an integrated monitor mount. Account for the display position and the cockpit’s footprint before committing to a permanent location.

TweakTown says the standard and Boeing variants share the base frame, while editions differ in themed side panels, seat design and padding, and whether a four-point harness is included as standard. Before paying more for the MSFS branding, compare the exact variant’s current price, seat, harness, included mounting parts, and fit for your controls. The launch announcement’s regional prices are historical and should not be used as a current local quote.
Who should consider it?
- A good fit: pilots who want a dedicated seat-and-frame rig, value adjustable lumbar support, and need configurable positions for their flight controls.
- Less suitable: buyers seeking a ready-to-fly bundle, a compact cockpit, or an all-in-one setup with a monitor stand included.
- Check before ordering: confirm the exact model and stock, the fit of each named control and pedal, required adapters, what the seat and harness package includes, and how the display will be mounted.
At the reviewed $899 price context, the case for the MSFS Edition rests on its seat and configuration rather than a complete bundle: controls and display support are additional purchases. Compare it against the standard and Boeing versions by what is actually included and by the layout you need, not branding alone. The review is available from TweakTown, and the historical launch prices appear in Next Level Racing’s June 2025 announcement.
