Paladium describes it as two systems working together: server-side simulation checks whether player actions are plausible, while client-side checks look for signs that the game environment has been altered. The company’s published account explains its design and reports its results, but does not provide an independent audit or a comparison proving that Nemesis is Minecraft’s “best” anti-cheat.
How Nemesis checks player behavior
In an engineering article published on DEV Community on 13 September 2026, Zeldown describes Nemesis as a system that reconstructs a player’s game state from incoming network packets. Paladium calls this a digital twin: a parallel simulation used to check whether observed actions fit the game’s rules and circumstances.

According to Paladium, server-side checks cover movement, interactions, timing, and combat. This layer can serve as a safety net if client-side checks miss something. The design addresses a basic limitation of client trust: a server can compare what a player reports doing with what should have been physically possible in the game.
How the client-integrity checks work
Paladium says Nemesis also checks the client environment, an approach it can use because players connect through Paladium’s own launcher. Its article lists checks for modified game components, code injected after launch, unexpected native calls, external reads of game memory, and lower-level or hardware-based access.

- Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures
- Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs

The company says detections generally combine multiple signals rather than relying on a single alert. It reports more than 40 detection vectors, updated daily. Those figures and descriptions are Paladium’s claims about its own software, not externally verified specifications.
Why Paladium emphasizes blocking cheats before banning
Paladium presents prevention as preferable to relying on punishment after a cheat has worked. Depending on the situation, Nemesis is intended to block a suspicious action, stop or close the game if the client’s integrity cannot be trusted, or issue a sanction after review.

Anti-X-ray: concealing ore until it can be seen
Paladium says the server initially sends ore data disguised as stone, then reveals the real block when it becomes visible to the player. To account for latency, its system predicts movement and sends nearby relevant ore data ahead of time into a secured memory area, allowing the display to change at the appropriate moment. This is Paladium’s explanation of the technique; the article does not provide independent testing of it.
Autoclickers: validating an attack at its origin
For autoclicker detection, Paladium says a click is checked where it originates, signed, and bound to the attack it triggers. The server checks that proof alongside the hit and cancels the attack if the signature is missing, mismatched, or late. The intended result is to prevent an unverified attack from applying damage, rather than depend solely on a later ban.

How detections lead to review and sanctions
Paladium says a detection does not automatically mean a ban. Before a detection vector can sanction players automatically, it goes through a validation period that may last several months and must achieve at least one consecutive month without a false positive. The company says uncertain cases are sent for human review, and that manual review precedes sanctions in most cases.
Paladium describes sanction timing as ranging from nearly immediate to about 24 hours, depending on severity and a random factor. It says the variation is intended to make it harder for cheat developers to infer the system’s detection logic from a predictable delay. These are descriptions of Paladium’s own operating process, not independently audited findings.

Appeals
According to Paladium, it retains detection logs in anonymized form with technical context. For an appeal, the logs are replayed and reviewed by a person. The published account describes this process but does not provide independent evidence about how appeals are handled or their outcomes.

| Measure | Paladium’s reported figure | Scope and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Detections | 8,900 | Six months before publication; several detections may involve one player. |
| Automatic sanctions | 1,124 | Six months before publication. |
| Cheating bans | 2,020 | Total since Nemesis went live. |
| Average detection time | 193 seconds | Reported average; the article does not specify a separate measurement methodology. |
| Development scale | More than 1,500 commits and 57,000 lines of code | Paladium’s reported project figures. |
Paladium also characterizes its false-positive rate as “close to zero” after more than a year of real-world use. It does not give an exact rate or independent validation, so the phrase should be understood as a qualitative claim rather than a measured, audited result.

What “best” means here—and what remains unverified
The article calls Nemesis the best Minecraft anti-cheat, but explicitly frames that as Paladium’s opinion. The cited account provides no independent head-to-head benchmark against other systems and no completed external audit. It is therefore useful as a first-party description of Nemesis’s design, not as proof of a ranking.
Paladium says it is researching a separate program that would include a kernel-level component; this is a future engineering direction, not a feature described as currently deployed. The company also says it intends to establish an external audit program, but had “Nothing concrete to announce yet” in the article. Neither should be read as an available product feature or completed audit.
