Use the MTGOX Online Rehabilitation Claim Filing System—not a public webpage—to check your Mt. Gox claim. After you sign in, the system and the Rehabilitation Trustee’s notices are the authoritative record of your approved claim amount, repayment-method selection, payee details, and payment status. The trustee’s homepage currently lists October 31, 2026 (Japan Time) as the deadline for Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment, and Intermediate Repayment, replacing the date previously shown for 2025.
This FAQ explains what you can verify, which identity documents may be required, why a repayment can remain pending, and what is actually needed to receive cryptocurrency. Individual balances and completion status are not searchable by the public.

What you can—and cannot—verify publicly
Mt. Gox creditor information is account-specific. The trustee does not publish a lookup page where anyone can enter a name, creditor number, or Bitcoin address and see a balance. Public notices therefore cannot confirm your approved claim amount, selected repayment route, destination account, or whether your payment has completed.
Sign in to the MTGOX Online Rehabilitation Claim Filing System through the official Mt. Gox site. The logged-in notices shown there are the controlling instructions for your account. They can differ between creditors because eligibility, document requests, selected repayment methods, and outstanding checks are not identical.

When a message in your account conflicts with an older announcement, follow the current logged-in instruction and its stated deadline. Do not rely on screenshots, social-media posts, or a message forwarded by another creditor.
Current deadline and the repayment categories it covers
The official homepage says the Rehabilitation Trustee changed the deadline for the Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment, and Intermediate Repayment to October 31, 2026 (Japan Time), from October 31, 2025. This is the currently posted public date for those categories. A deadline can be revised again, so check the latest announcement and your logged-in notices before acting.
The date is not a promise that every creditor will receive funds on that day. It is a plan-administration deadline. Your actual timing depends on whether you completed the required election, supplied acceptable identity and payee information, and satisfied any exchange, custodian, bank, or trustee checks shown in your account.
Earlier selection and registration dates announced in 2023 are historical. They matter because the trustee warned that creditors who did not complete the required selection and payee registration could lose access to Early Lump-Sum Repayment, partial cryptocurrency repayment, bank remittance, or fund-transfer-provider remittance. Those old notices are not a substitute for the current deadline or account-specific instructions.

How to check your Mt. Gox claim record
Follow this sequence rather than trying to infer your position from a public list or from a transaction on a blockchain.
- Open the official Mt. Gox site. Navigate to the MTGOX Online Rehabilitation Claim Filing System using the link provided there. Check the domain and browser address carefully before entering credentials.
- Sign in with your creditor credentials. Use the authentication method registered for the rehabilitation process. If access fails, use only the recovery or support path presented by the official system; do not send credentials to a person offering help.
- Read the latest logged-in notice first. Look for requests concerning repayment selection, identity verification, payee registration, exchange or custodian information, and any missing document.
- Review the claim record. Confirm the creditor name, approved claim amount, currencies shown, and any status label. Save a contemporaneous copy for your records without altering the original file.
- Review repayment-method and payee fields. Check whether the system shows Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment, Intermediate Repayment, bank remittance, fund-transfer-provider remittance, or cryptocurrency repayment, and verify the destination details displayed for your account.
- Check for unresolved actions. A request to upload a document, correct a name, complete a provider identity check, or provide account-verification information can prevent processing even when a method appears selected.
- Record the exact wording and date. Keep the notice, upload receipt, and confirmation number. If you need assistance, quoting the system’s own wording is more reliable than describing a status from memory.
A balance that appears in an old email or an earlier screenshot is not a current statement. The authenticated system is the place to establish what the trustee currently recognizes.
Identity checks for individual and corporate creditors
Individual creditors
The trustee’s public materials do not establish one universal document list for every individual. The system can request identity, payee, or account information based on your circumstances and selected repayment route. Provide exactly what the current notice requests, in the format and file type it specifies, and make sure names and dates of birth are consistent with the rehabilitation record and the receiving account.

Corporate creditors
Corporate claimants face additional checks. The trustee’s FAQ and document-upload notice identify the following core requirements:
| Requirement | What the trustee asks for | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Company status | Company registration and a certificate of seal registration. A foreign corporation may use a certificate of qualification or an equivalent registration certificate issued by its government. | Information must be current and the documents generally must have been issued within the last three months. |
| Representative or administrator identity | Identity-verification documents for the corporate representative, or identity documents for an administrator who handled the claim procedure. | If an administrator submits the materials, include a power of attorney from the representative. |
| Commercial-registration upload | An up-to-date commercial-registration PDF. | Use the current account instruction for file format and submission method. |
| Representations and Warranties | A completed form signed or sealed as instructed. | Do not upload an unsigned or incomplete form. |
| Seal or signature evidence | A seal-registration certificate or signature certificate. | Use the version and issuing authority accepted by the trustee. |
| Foreign-language records | The original document plus an English translation. | When the issuing authority does not provide an English document, the 2023 notice required notarization of the translation alongside the original. |
The 2023 notice said representative verification used Onfido PTE Ltd. or another method designated by the trustee. That reference describes the historical upload process; the current system may specify a different provider or workflow.
The trustee expressly warned that failing to upload corporate-verification documents by the applicable deadline could nullify the selected repayment method and prevent receipt of the desired repayment. Because those upload dates were historical, treat the warning as a consequence, not as a current deadline. Your account’s present request controls.

| Route | Intermediary | Information and checks | Who should pay attention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank remittance | A bank account registered through the rehabilitation process. | Payee name and bank details must match the trustee’s records and pass the applicable verification. | Creditors who selected a bank-based cash repayment. |
| Fund-transfer-provider remittance | A trustee-accepted transfer provider. | Provider registration and payee information must be completed as requested in the system. | Creditors whose account shows this method. |
| Early Lump-Sum Repayment | The route selected in the claim system, potentially involving cash or cryptocurrency components. | Required election, registration, and identity checks must have been completed. | Creditors who made this historical election and are checking whether it remains valid. |
| Intermediate Repayment | The route recorded in the claim system. | Follow the current notice for outstanding information and timing. | Creditors with this selection in their account. |
| Cryptocurrency repayment | One trustee-designated cryptocurrency exchange or custodian. | Provider identity verification, account-verification information, and an agency-receipt arrangement are required. | Creditors seeking Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash repayment. |
The materials do not establish provider fees, approval odds, or universal availability. Do not choose a route based on an unverified comparison or a third party’s claimed priority.
What is required for cryptocurrency repayment?
A hardware wallet is not listed as an eligibility requirement. Buying a wallet does not unlock a Mt. Gox payment. The operative intermediary is a trustee-designated exchange or custodian, and the rehabilitation plan sets out five conditions.
- Use a designated provider. You must be a user of a cryptocurrency exchange or custodian designated by the trustee and select one designated provider.
- Complete the provider’s identity verification. The provider must perform checks appropriate to applicable laws, rules, guidance, and government requirements, and the trustee must be able to verify that completion.
- Supply account-verification information. Give the trustee the information needed to verify your account at the designated exchange or custodian.
- Agree to the agency-receipt arrangement. You must manifest your intent to subscribe to an agency-receipt agreement with the designated provider.
- Meet additional trustee requirements. The trustee may specify other conditions separately. Read the current logged-in notice rather than assuming the five headline conditions are the entire checklist.
These conditions explain why a cryptocurrency payment can remain pending even when a creditor has selected the route: the trustee may still be waiting for provider verification, account information, the agency-receipt arrangement, or another account-specific requirement.

Why a repayment may be on hold
An on-hold or incomplete status is a signal to inspect the account notice, not proof that the claim was rejected. Common causes supported by the trustee’s procedures include:
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Unfinished selection or registration: a repayment method or payee field was not finalized.
- Identity mismatch: the name on a bank, provider, or corporate document differs from the rehabilitation record.
- Stale corporate documents: a registration certificate is older than the freshness period requested or no longer reflects the company’s officers.
- Missing authority documents: an administrator uploaded identity records without the representative’s power of attorney.
- Unreadable or incomplete uploads: a seal, signature, translation, or required page is missing.
- Cryptocurrency-provider checks: the designated exchange or custodian has not completed identity verification, or the trustee cannot verify the account information.
- Bank-detail errors: an account number, branch, country, or payee name does not match the registered information.
What to do about a name or bank-detail mismatch
- Compare the exact spelling, order of names, legal suffixes, and transliteration in the claim system with the receiving account or document.
- Read the latest notice to determine whether the trustee wants a correction, a replacement document, or an explanation of a lawful name change.
- Do not create a second claim or switch repayment routes simply to bypass the mismatch.
- Submit the requested correction through the authenticated system and retain the upload confirmation.
- If the notice does not explain the correction path, use the official support contact shown after login and include the creditor information requested there—never your password or private keys.
What the repayment-progress figure means
In a notice dated March 27, 2025, Rehabilitation Trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi stated that, following repayments in July and August 2024 and January through March 2025, Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash repayments had been made to over 19,500 rehabilitation creditors. The same notice said repayments to other creditors would be made once the stated requirements were met.
That is an aggregate progress figure, not a directory of paid creditors. It does not reveal your claim amount, identify your payment date, or establish that every creditor who selected cryptocurrency has completed the process. Only your authenticated account can show your position.
Safe record-keeping and scam avoidance
Because claim records are private, be suspicious of anyone offering a public “balance check,” asking for a fee to release coins, or requesting your password, two-factor code, seed phrase, or private key. The documented process does not require a consumer wallet product, a paid scanner, or an intermediary who is not named in the trustee’s own instructions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Bookmark the official Mt. Gox site rather than a link sent in an unsolicited message.
- Check that the browser address is correct before signing in.
- Keep original notices, upload receipts, and provider confirmations in a secure archive.
- Redact passwords, recovery codes, private keys, and full banking credentials from any support correspondence unless the official system specifically requests a limited field.
- Use Japan Time when interpreting the posted deadline and convert it carefully if you live elsewhere.
Practical checklist before you finish
- Have you signed in to the MTGOX Online Rehabilitation Claim Filing System recently?
- Does the displayed creditor name match your current legal or corporate records?
- Have you read every unresolved notice and its deadline?
- For a company, are registration documents current, issued within the requested period, translated and notarized where required, and accompanied by representative authority?
- For cryptocurrency repayment, is your provider trustee-designated, identity verification complete, and account information supplied?
- For bank or transfer-provider repayment, do the payee name and destination details exactly match the registered information?
- Have you saved proof of each submission without sharing sensitive credentials?
If any answer is no, the next action is the instruction shown in your authenticated account—not a generic product purchase or advice from an unrelated website.
