You can migrate WooCommerce data to FluentCart with its Migrator addon, either through the WordPress admin wizard or WP-CLI. The documented process copies data without changing the source store, but it does not transfer every setting or integration. Back up first, rehearse on staging if possible, then verify representative records and finish the manual cutover tasks before sending customers to the new checkout.
What transfers—and what you must handle separately
FluentCart’s migration guide describes a staged copy from WooCommerce on the same WordPress site. The Migrator can transfer product records, customer identity and address information, orders, transactions, refunds, coupons, and subscription data when the required subscription extension is available. Its scope includes published, private, and draft products; categories, attributes, variations, and supported bundle relationships; and order line items, taxes, shipping amounts, fees, discounts, transactions, refunds, and notes. Customer records are deduplicated by email, and a separate stage captures registered customers who have never ordered. Custom order statuses can be read when the plugin that registers them remains active. Unrecognized statuses may map to On Hold; if a status plugin is inactive, its orders may be unavailable and appear in the failed-order log.
Choose the wizard or WP-CLI
The admin wizard is the straightforward route for small to medium stores and operators who prefer the WordPress interface. FluentCart positions WP-CLI as an option for stores with thousands of orders or for administrators who prefer terminal workflows. WP-CLI also avoids relying on a long browser session; the documentation describes paged processing and resumable stages. Use the route that fits your access and comfort, and keep a backup and staging rehearsal in either case. The migration overview and WP-CLI migration instructions describe the supported workflows.

Prepare the source and destination
Back up and rehearse
Take a fresh database backup before beginning. Rehearse the migration on staging when possible, and confirm that FluentCart’s documented transfer boundaries fit your store. The Migrator is documented as read-only against WooCommerce, so the source remains unchanged; that is not a substitute for a rollback plan. Developer Mode is described as a way to reset and rerun a staging migration.
Confirm the prerequisites
- WooCommerce 3.0 or later must be active, and the source store must contain at least one product.
- FluentCart and the FluentCart Migrator addon must be installed and activated on the same WordPress site as WooCommerce.
- You need WordPress admin access.
- Install and activate WooCommerce Subscriptions if the store has recurring products you intend to migrate. Without it, the guide says subscription counts show zero and orders are treated as one-time payments.
- The overview recommends a PHP memory limit of 256 MB for larger stores.
Run the migration in dependency order
1. Install and open the Migrator
Download and activate the Migrator through FluentCart’s Settings → Features & addon area, or upload its ZIP through WordPress Plugins. Then open FluentCart Migrator from the WordPress sidebar. WooCommerce must be active for the Migrator to detect it.

2. Select WooCommerce and pass the compatibility check
Choose the detected WooCommerce source. The check confirms that WooCommerce is active and reports its version. The documented minimum is 3.0, which provides the CRUD API used by the Migrator. Resolve any failed compatibility check before proceeding.
3. Compare the source inventory
Review the displayed counts for products, orders, customers, transactions, coupons, and subscriptions where available. Compare them with the source store, and review any prior migration state if you are resuming an interrupted run.

4. Run all required stages
The wizard stages are products, tax rates, coupons, orders/payments/customers, missing customers, and recount/verify. Keep the stages required for a complete migration enabled. The process runs in dependency order: products are available before orders refer to them, and recount and verification run last. The missing-customers stage covers registered customers who have never placed an order.

5. Investigate failed orders
Failed orders are logged rather than stopping the entire run. Review the failed-order log for the specific cause and remediation. If affected orders use a custom status, activate the plugin that registers that status and check whether those records can then be queried.

Verify the migrated store before cutover
Do not treat a completed run as proof that every important record is correct. Compare representative source and destination records field by field. FluentCart recommends examples that exercise a simple purchase, a variable product, shipping and tax, a coupon, a partial refund, and a subscription renewal.
- Catalog: compare categories, prices, variations, stock, and downloadable assets.
- Orders: compare totals, line items, tax, shipping amount, discounts, payment status, customer data, and transaction IDs.
- Refunds: check a partial refund and its associated order and transaction details.
- Subscriptions: check billing interval, next renewal date, status, and collection method.
- Counts: reconcile the migrated totals against the source inventory and investigate discrepancies.
Complete the manual cutover work
Reconnect and test payments
Reconnect payment gateway credentials in FluentCart; they are not transferred. The migration guide advises reconnecting the same Stripe and PayPal accounts and matching test or live mode. FluentCart selects keys according to an order’s mode, so test the intended checkout mode before launch.
Rebuild shipping and review tax
Recreate the live shipping zones, methods, and rates manually. Historical shipping amounts transfer, but the chosen shipping method name does not. Review FluentCart’s tax settings against the requirements that apply to your store, then test orders that include tax and shipping.

Update pages, notifications, and files
Replace WooCommerce shortcodes and blocks, and update cart, checkout, and account links so customers reach FluentCart pages. Review notification templates. Verify downloadable files: local files are copied into FluentCart storage, while remote assets retain their original URL.
Keep the source available
Leave the original WooCommerce data available until the migrated store has been verified in practice. Do not remove source records as part of the migration run.
