Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Verdict: The Motorola Razr+ 2026—called the Razr 70 Plus outside the US—is a polished middle-tier foldable with two unusually bright, fluid screens, a useful cover display and dependable all-day battery life. Its 50MP main and ultrawide cameras take appealing portraits, but the loss of a telephoto lens limits zoom. The reused Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, only three promised Android-version upgrades and a $1,099.99 launch price make it difficult to call this the best-value clamshell.
It is worth considering if you value a pocketable design, hands-free portraits, fast charging and a cover screen that can run real apps. Buyers who keep phones for many years, demand flagship gaming performance or shoot distant subjects should weigh its compromises carefully.

What the Razr+ 2026 is—and what “Razr 70 Plus” means
Motorola sells the same 2026 middle-tier clamshell under two regional names. In the United States it is the Motorola Razr+ 2026; international markets use Razr 70 Plus. The hardware described in this review is the same: a 6.9-inch foldable inner display, a 4-inch outer display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processing, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The phone folds shut to become easier to pocket and opens into a tall smartphone. A titanium-reinforced hinge and IP48 protection are intended to improve everyday resilience, while Motorola includes a protective case in the box. IP48 is not permission to treat the phone like a waterproof handset: the rating addresses limited dust ingress and water exposure, not submersion, pool use or high-pressure spray.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
US pricing started at $1,099.99. Motorola, Amazon.com and Best Buy opened preorders on May 14, 2026, with general unlocked sales beginning May 21. Prices and promotions can change, so treat that MSRP as the launch reference rather than a permanent street price.

Design and hinge: stylish, pocketable and more reassuring
The Razr+ 2026’s defining advantage is its closed form. Folded, it occupies less vertical space than a conventional phone, and the outer display lets you check information without opening the hinge. At 189g, it avoids the heavy feel associated with some larger foldables.
The titanium-reinforced hinge feels smoother and sturdier than earlier Razr generations in reviewer handling. That does not eliminate the mechanical realities of a foldable: grit, sharp objects and careless pressure can still damage the inner panel. Keep the supplied case fitted if you frequently place the phone on rough surfaces, and do not insert cards or debris between the halves before closing it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsMotorola lists IP48 protection. The “4” indicates protection against objects larger than 1mm; the “8” indicates resistance to prolonged water immersion under the manufacturer’s specified conditions. A rating does not cover salt water, soapy water, drops from a shower head or liquid forced into the hinge. If the phone gets wet, dry the exterior and hinge area, avoid charging until it is completely dry and never use heat to accelerate drying.
What is in the box
Motorola lists a protective case in the box. The company also sells accessory categories for cases, screen protectors, chargers and USB-C cables. The included charger status can vary by market or listing, so confirm the contents for the exact regional package before buying a separate adapter.
Displays: the strongest reason to choose this model
Both panels support refresh rates up to 165Hz, making scrolling, animations and compatible games look exceptionally fluid. The 6.9-inch inner AMOLED runs at 1084 × 2640, a resolution that keeps text and photos crisp on the tall panel. Its stated peak brightness of 3,000 nits is intended for short-duration highlights and sunlight visibility rather than a brightness level maintained across the whole screen.

The 4-inch cover AMOLED is 1272 × 1080 and peaks at 2,400 nits. Its nearly square shape is useful for glanceable tasks and supports more than a basic clock or notification strip. You can handle messages, music controls, weather, timers and selected apps without opening the phone, reducing unnecessary unfold cycles and saving time.
Cover-screen strengths and limits
- Useful without unfolding: Notifications, widgets and supported apps can be handled from the outer panel.
- High refresh rate: At up to 165Hz, the cover display does not feel like a low-power secondary screen.
- Bright in daylight: The 2,400-nit peak specification gives it a strong visibility advantage outdoors.
- Camera cutouts consume space: The cover display’s cutouts reduce the uninterrupted area available to content.
- Not every app is ideal: A four-inch, almost-square layout can make typing, dense spreadsheets and long-form reading awkward.
Inside, a visible crease remains where the panel folds. It is easy to see at certain angles and can be felt when swiping across the center. That is normal for this generation of flexible displays, but anyone expecting a completely flat tablet-like surface should try a foldable in person first.
Performance and software support
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, paired with 12GB of RAM, provides the performance expected from a premium midrange phone. Apps open quickly, multitasking is comfortable and the high-refresh displays make routine interactions feel responsive. The concern is not basic speed; it is longevity and value. Motorola is reusing the same processor family seen in prior Razr Plus generations instead of moving to a newer flagship platform.
That choice matters most for sustained gaming, demanding image processing and buyers who keep a phone for four or five years. Performance should remain adequate for everyday Android use, but the chipset does not give this $1,099.99 phone the same forward-looking margin as a current top-tier processor.
Android 16 ships on the device. Motorola promises up to three years of OS upgrades and five years of security updates. “Up to” means the exact delivery schedule can depend on region, carrier and certification; it should not be read as a guarantee that every market receives every update on the same date. Three major Android upgrades trail the longer software commitments offered by Samsung and Google, a significant consideration at this price.

How to plan around the update policy
- Keep the phone’s automatic-update setting enabled and install security patches promptly.
- If you buy near the end of the product cycle, count the remaining OS upgrades from the actual release date in your market rather than assuming a full three-year window.
- For a work phone or long-term family device, compare the promised support period with your replacement schedule before paying launch price.
Battery life and charging
The 4,500mAh battery is a substantial capacity for a clamshell. Motorola says it provides “over 31 hours of battery life” on a single charge; that is the company’s claim under its own test conditions, not an independently reproduced measurement. In hands-on use, reviewers reported all-day endurance with typical mixed use.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Charging options are flexible:
- 45W wired charging: the fastest way to replenish the battery when you have a compatible USB-C power adapter.
- 15W wireless charging: convenient for a desk or bedside stand, though slower than cable charging.
- 5W reverse wireless charging: useful for topping up compatible earbuds or another small device in an emergency.
Actual charging speed depends on the adapter, cable, temperature and the phone’s charging limits as it approaches full. A 45W label does not mean every percentage point arrives at 45W continuously.
Camera review: excellent portraits, limited zoom
The rear camera system combines a 50MP main sensor with a 50MP ultrawide. The 2026 model drops the telephoto camera used by the previous generation, so there is no dedicated optical zoom lens. A 32MP selfie camera handles conventional front-facing shots, while the foldable design lets you use the rear cameras for higher-quality self-portraits by framing yourself on the cover display.
Main camera and portraits
Reviewers found portrait photography to be a clear strength. The main camera produces appealing subject separation and attractive people shots, making the Razr+ 2026 well suited to social photos, pets and casual family pictures. The folding hinge also functions as a practical stand: set the phone at an angle, preview framing on the outer display and use a timer or gesture rather than holding the phone.

The 50MP ultrawide gives you a wider perspective for architecture, landscapes and group photos. It is more versatile than having only a standard wide camera, but switching from the main sensor can change color, exposure and fine detail, especially in difficult light. The ultrawide should be treated as a complementary viewpoint, not a guarantee of identical quality.
Zoom trade-off
Without a telephoto lens, distant subjects rely on digital cropping from the main sensor. Zoom shots therefore lose detail sooner than they would on a phone with optical reach. If you regularly photograph concerts, sports, wildlife or signs from far away, this is the Razr+ 2026’s most consequential camera compromise.
Selfies and hands-free shooting
The 32MP front camera is available for standard selfies, but the better-quality option in good light is often to use the main rear camera while the cover display shows your preview. The hinge can hold partially open angles for tabletop shots and group portraits, a practical benefit that conventional slab phones cannot reproduce without a separate stand.

Razr, Razr+ and Razr Ultra: where the Plus fits
Motorola’s 2026 range positions the base Razr as the value model, the Razr+ as the middle model and the Razr Ultra as the premium model. Available comparison material identifies the Plus at about $1,100 and the Ultra at about $1,500, while the base Razr is described as the value option. The available data does not establish a complete, like-for-like specification sheet for the base and Ultra models, so unknown cells below are deliberately marked rather than guessed.

This positioning makes the Plus a choice for buyers who want the more capable outer display and premium finish without paying Ultra money. It is not automatically the performance leader: the reused chipset and shorter OS-upgrade promise are the main reasons to examine the Ultra or competing foldables before committing.
Razr+ 2026 versus Galaxy Z Flip 7
The available evidence supports a focused comparison rather than a complete specification shoot-out. The Razr+ 2026’s advantages are its 4-inch, 165Hz cover display, bright 6.9-inch inner panel, 4,500mAh battery, 45W wired charging and portrait-friendly camera experience. Its disadvantages are the missing telephoto lens, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform and three-year OS-upgrade commitment.
Samsung’s support policy is identified as longer than Motorola’s in the comparison material, but exact Galaxy Z Flip 7 specifications, pricing and test results are not established here. If update longevity and a mature service network matter most, verify the current Flip 7 policy in your country. If you prefer a larger, more app-capable outer screen and faster wired charging, the Razr+ specifications are the clearer fit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who should buy the Razr+ 2026?
It makes sense for
- People who want a genuinely pocketable phone without giving up a large high-refresh display when opened.
- Users who will take advantage of the cover screen for notifications, widgets, music and quick app actions.
- Portrait photographers and social creators who value flattering people shots and hands-free hinge angles more than long-range zoom.
- Buyers who want wireless charging, reverse charging and a case included in the listed package.
- Anyone finding the phone at a substantial discount below its $1,099.99 launch MSRP.
It is a poor fit for
- Photographers who routinely need optical zoom for distant subjects.
- Heavy gamers seeking the newest flagship silicon and maximum sustained performance.
- Owners who expect five or more years of Android-version updates.
- People uncomfortable with a visible crease or the extra care required by an inner flexible display.
- Shoppers paying full launch price while a newer chipset-equipped foldable is available for similar money.
Buying and setup checklist
- Confirm the regional name and configuration. US listings should identify Razr+ 2026; international listings may say Razr 70 Plus. Verify that the package contains 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
- Check the exact seller and warranty. Motorola announced Amazon.com, Best Buy and Motorola.com as US preorder channels, but marketplace sellers can differ in return and warranty terms.
- Verify box contents. Motorola lists a protective case, while charger inclusion can vary by market. Confirm before ordering a 45W USB-C adapter.
- Install updates before migrating sensitive data. Connect to Wi-Fi, charge the phone, open Settings and install any available Android or security update before restoring your backup.
- Configure the cover display. Choose which notifications, widgets and supported apps can run externally. Disable sensitive notification previews if the phone is often placed on a desk with the screen visible.
- Protect the hinge and inner screen. Use the supplied case, keep grit away from the fold and never press the inner panel with a fingernail or hard object.
- Test cameras in your real conditions. Try portraits, ultrawide scenes and the level of zoom you use most. The lack of a telephoto lens is easiest to judge before the return window closes.
Common problems and practical fixes
The cover screen feels cramped
Use it for glanceable actions rather than long writing sessions. Move full replies, document editing and extended browsing to the 6.9-inch inner display, and keep only the apps that remain comfortable on the outer panel.
Zoom photos look soft
This is a hardware limitation caused by the missing telephoto camera. Step back and use the main camera at its native view when possible; cropping a well-lit full-resolution image usually preserves more detail than aggressive digital zoom.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Battery does not match the “31 hours” claim
Motorola’s figure is a controlled company estimate, not a promise for every user. High brightness, 165Hz mode, navigation, cellular reception, gaming and camera use can reduce endurance. Lower brightness when practical, use adaptive refresh and check which apps are consuming power in Settings.
The hinge or inner panel gets dirty
Close the phone and wipe the exterior with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not push debris into the hinge, use compressed air, or apply liquid directly to the flexible display. Persistent grinding, lifting or a new line across the panel warrants authorized service rather than home repair.
Updates arrive later than expected
Rollouts can be staged by country and carrier. Keep automatic updates enabled, install the latest security patch available for your region and check Motorola’s support pages with the exact model number if an update appears overdue.
Final assessment
The Razr+ 2026 succeeds at the parts of a foldable people notice every day: it closes into a compact shape, opens to a bright 6.9-inch 165Hz screen, offers a genuinely useful 4-inch outer display and lasts a full day for many users. The hinge feels more confidence-inspiring, portraits are a highlight and 45W wired charging is practical.
Its weaknesses are harder to ignore at $1,099.99. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is familiar rather than cutting-edge, the camera system gives up optical zoom, a crease remains visible and three years of OS upgrades trails the longest-supporting rivals. Buy it when the cover-screen experience and foldable design are your priorities—and preferably when a discount narrows the price gap. At full MSRP, it is an appealing specialist choice, not an unquestioned recommendation.
