Display: 6.78-inch 120 Hz Extreme AMOLED
The display measures 6.78 inches diagonally and has a stated 1272 × 2772 resolution, which Motorola labels Super HD and lists at 450 ppi. Its refresh rate is up to 120 Hz. Motorola also specifies 10-bit colour, over one billion shades, 100% DCI-P3 gamut and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. That brightness figure is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified measurement.
Additional listed display details include water-touch capability, SGS Low Blue Light and Low Motion Blur certifications, Gorilla Glass 7i, a 91% screen-to-body ratio and a 19.6:9 aspect ratio.

Processor, memory and storage
The moto g87 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400, built on a 6 nm process. Motorola lists an octa-core CPU running at up to 2.5 GHz and an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The listed configuration has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. Motorola describes expandable memory up to 24 GB; that wording should not be confused with a physical RAM upgrade. A microSD card can expand storage by up to 2 TB.
The phone includes a fingerprint reader, Face Unlock and ThinkShield security features. No benchmark results are established here, so the component names and clock speed alone should not be read as a measured performance rating.

Rear and front cameras
The rear camera system consists of a 200 MP main camera (f/1.8) with optical image stabilization and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2). Motorola lists 16-in-1 Ultra Pixel technology and 2× lossless zoom for the main camera, as well as up to 10× high-resolution digital zoom. The front camera is 32 MP.

Battery, charging and body
Motorola specifies a 5,200 mAh battery and says the device supports charging at up to 30 W. Those figures do not establish battery runtime or how long a full charge takes. The phone measures 164.58 × 77.37 × 7.38 mm and weighs 183 g, with a leather-inspired finish and a USB Type-C port using USB 2.0.

Motorola’s UK page lists IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection and MIL-STD 810H shock/drop resistance. These are manufacturer-stated ratings, not an unconditional guarantee against water or impact damage. Actual protection can depend on conditions and the device’s state; do not treat the ratings as permission to expose a phone deliberately to water or drops.

The UK specification page lists these 5G NR bands: n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n26, n28, n38, n40, n41, n71, n75, n77 and n78. It also lists 4G, 3G and 2G bands, plus Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou.

For the UK version, Motorola describes the SIM arrangement as dual SIM: one physical nano-SIM plus eSIM, alongside one microSD card. Band support and SIM arrangements can differ by model variant and market, and carrier compatibility depends on the specific bands and service offered. Check the exact model and carrier before buying. Motorola’s EU Declaration of Conformity identifies model XT2621-6 / MC462 in a declaration issued on 26 March 2026; it is regulatory information for that model, not proof that every regional moto g87 has identical radio or SIM specifications.
Audio, box contents and software support
The listed audio features are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, two microphones and headphone connection over USB Type-C. Motorola’s UK support page lists a protective cover, USB cable, guides and SIM tool in the box. The official user guide says a charger may be omitted for environmental reasons, so check the specific market package rather than assuming a power adapter is included.
