Which phone has the better display?

The Redmi has the larger, higher-contrast panel on the published specifications: Xiaomi describes a 6.99-inch OLED display globally, while its UK specification page calls it AMOLED and lists up to 120Hz and 1800 nits peak brightness. Motorola’s India support specifications list the Moto’s 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD, 120Hz, and up to 1050 nits HBM. These brightness figures come from different manufacturer pages and methods, so they are not a controlled, like-for-like measurement.

Choose based on the screen you prefer: the Redmi’s stated panel type and size favor a more expansive OLED viewing experience, while the Moto’s listing is for a smaller LCD. The figures alone do not establish how either screen performs in every lighting condition.

Battery capacity and charging vary by region

Motorola’s India support page lists the Moto G57 Power with a 7000mAh battery and 33W TurboPower charging. Xiaomi lists the Redmi Note 17 5G at 7700mAh with 45W charging on its UK and global material, but Xiaomi India states an 8000mAh typical battery and 45W charging. Treat these as market-specific specifications rather than combining them into one universal Redmi configuration.

A larger stated capacity does not by itself prove longer real-world battery life; usage, software, network conditions, and regional hardware can all matter. The listed charging wattage is likewise not a measured charging-time comparison.

What to know about performance and cameras

The listed processors are the 4nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in the Moto and the 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 in the Redmi. Their stated maximum CPU frequencies are close—up to 2.4GHz and 2.3GHz respectively—but clock speed alone cannot settle which phone feels faster. No matched independent performance testing is established here, so avoid treating these specifications as benchmark results.

Motorola India lists a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The comparison listing identifies a 50MP main camera for the Redmi, but its complete camera configuration should be checked on Xiaomi’s page for the specific regional model. Megapixel counts do not establish image quality, and the available specifications do not support a camera-quality winner.

Durability, audio, and software claims

Motorola lists IP64 protection and Gorilla Glass 7i for the Moto G57 Power; Motorola Spain also describes MIL-STD 810H testing. Xiaomi’s global page lists IP65 and Gorilla Glass 7i for the Redmi. These ratings and materials are not a promise that a phone is damage-proof; follow each manufacturer’s handling and warranty terms.

Motorola’s India specifications also list stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Xiaomi’s global product page states “6 years of security updates”; treat that as Xiaomi’s product claim and check the terms on the page for your region before relying on it as a support guarantee.

Charger in the box: check the market package

Box contents differ by region. Xiaomi UK says the Redmi Note 17 5G package does not include an adapter and recommends a compatible PD or Xiaomi 45W adapter. Xiaomi India says a 45W adapter is included. Confirm the package description for the exact phone and seller before purchasing a separate charger.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose the Moto G57 Power if the lower price in your market matters more, you prefer a smaller LCD, or you want Motorola’s listed stereo speakers and 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • Choose the Redmi Note 17 5G if you prioritize the larger OLED/AMOLED display and the 45W charging listed on Xiaomi’s regional pages, and its regional price and package suit you.
  • Pause before ordering either phone if the seller’s listing does not make the RAM, storage, network bands, charger contents, or exact regional model clear. Confirm those details against the manufacturer’s page for your country.

For manufacturer specifications, consult Motorola India’s Moto G57 Power support page, Xiaomi UK’s Redmi Note 17 5G specifications, Xiaomi India’s Redmi Note 17 5G specifications, and Xiaomi’s global Redmi Note 17 5G page.
