The useful way to choose is by the job you need done: coordinating conversations, bringing documents onto cards, handing work to Jira, capturing or repeating tasks, or managing board limits. Trello’s directory showed 234 entries when accessed in 2026, but a directory listing is not a quality ranking or a guarantee that every option remains supported.
What a Trello Power-Up does—and how to choose one
A Power-Up adds a board feature or connects Trello with another service; Trello uses “Power-Up” and “integration” for overlapping concepts. Start with the friction in your workflow, then check whether the option actually addresses it. Trello describes the directory as a place to find integrations and features, not a ranked list of recommendations.

Use these checks before enabling an option:
- Workflow fit: Identify whether you need conversation context, files, issue handoffs, recurring work, or a board control.
- Information and direction: Check what moves between Trello and the connected service, and whether the connection is one-way or supports updates in both places.
- Access: Review the accounts and permissions required. For third-party services, consider who will authorize access and what board information may be shared.
- Cost and eligibility: Trello says unlimited Power-Ups are available with every plan, but a connected service may charge separately. Check current terms for both services.
- Current availability: Confirm the listing, provider support, regional availability, and setup instructions before rolling it out.
Trello says many Power-Ups are free, while others may carry service costs from the third-party developers who create and maintain them. The integration directory’s 234-entry count is a snapshot, not a count of equally maintained, distinct, or recommended options. See Atlassian Support’s Power-Ups overview and Trello’s integration directory.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor team conversations: Slack
The documented Slack workflow is useful when decisions happen in chat but tasks need to live on a Trello board. It can create Trello cards from Slack, show key Trello details when a card link is posted in a Slack channel, and attach Slack conversations to cards. Trello’s directory also describes sharing cards and activity and pinning a Slack channel to a board.
#1 Best Overall
This can preserve context around a task, but it does not make chat a substitute for a board’s task ownership and status. Confirm which actions are available in the current setup and which permissions Slack and Trello request. Trello documents this workflow in its Power-Ups integration guide.
For files and project documentation: Google Drive or Confluence
Google Drive: keep file access tied to Drive
The Google Drive Power-Up brings files and folders onto Trello cards, lets users search Drive from Trello, and provides previews or file details with a path back to Drive. The files remain stored in Google; they are not copied into Trello. Each user must authenticate and grant access, so review the requested permissions during setup and make sure the right people can open the underlying files.
Rank #2
Confluence: connect pages to the work
Confluence Cloud can attach existing pages to Trello cards or create a page from a card. A card can also show page details such as its creator, date, content snippet, and comments. This suits teams that want project documentation visible alongside tasks without treating the card itself as the document repository.
Recommended Free Tools
Trello describes both options in its integration guide; its Enterprise Power-Ups guide also documents Confluence and other integrations. Check the current permissions and product requirements with each service.
Rank #3
For engineering handoffs: Jira
The Jira Power-Up can link Jira issues to Trello cards, display issue details and status, create a Jira issue from a Trello card, and link back to the Trello card from Jira. That makes it useful when a nontechnical team needs visibility into engineering work, or when a Trello task needs a formal issue counterpart.
It is a connection between workflows, not a replacement for Jira’s issue-management process. Decide which system owns status, assignments, and issue details, then verify how the current integration reflects changes. The documented capabilities are described in Trello’s integration guide and Enterprise guide.

For email intake, recurring work, and board limits: built-in utilities
Email-to-Board: turn incoming email into a card or comment
Each board has a unique email address. Sending an email to that address creates a card; sending an email to a card’s address adds a comment. This is a straightforward intake route for work arriving by email. Treat the board and card addresses as operationally sensitive, and check the board’s email-to-board settings before distributing them.

Card Repeater: create scheduled copies
Card Repeater can create copies of a card at a chosen frequency. It fits tasks that recur on a schedule, such as a regular review or checklist. Review how the repeated card should be named, placed, and maintained so that copies do not become stale or duplicate work.
List Limits: make overloaded lists visible
List Limits can highlight a list when it exceeds a chosen card threshold. It provides a visible signal that work in progress may be piling up; it does not by itself prevent new cards from being added or resolve the underlying capacity issue.
Trello includes these workflows in its Power-Ups integration guide. Check the current board settings and availability when enabling them.
For other workflows: use the directory as a shortlist
Trello’s directory surfaced examples across additional jobs, including Microsoft Teams embedding, Trello for Gmail, Telegram, SupportBee ticket-to-card transfer, OneLogin access, Make app connections, and time tracking or time-in-list tools such as TimeDoctor, Tick, Timecamp, TMetric, Toggl, and Time in List. These are examples of directory listings, not recommendations or confirmation of current third-party support.
For any option beyond the documented workflows above, open its current listing and provider information before adopting it. Check what it does, what it can access, who maintains it, what it costs, and whether it works with your Trello plan and other services. Trello’s directory is dynamic; the directory page is the place to verify current listings.
What to pick first
- Chat decisions need to become trackable tasks: Start with Slack’s card creation and conversation-linking workflow.
- People need files beside tasks: Use Google Drive when the authoritative files live in Drive; use Confluence when the work needs linked or card-created documentation pages.
- Teams need a bridge to engineering issues: Use Jira links when Trello collaborators need issue context and status alongside their cards.
- Work arrives by email or repeats on a cadence: Consider Email-to-Board for intake and Card Repeater for scheduled copies.
- Lists regularly exceed a workable load: Consider List Limits as a visual threshold, alongside a team agreement about work in progress.
Before enabling any Power-Up, verify current availability, permissions, support, and any third-party charge with Trello and the provider. Trello’s Enterprise guide says it offers more than 200 integrations, while the directory displayed 234 entries when accessed in 2026; these figures come from different pages and should not be treated as a single exact count of active, distinct Power-Ups.
