What Guard does and why it is the safer baseline

That fallback makes Guard a practical first choice when you are still learning an attack. It gives you room to read the cue without requiring every defensive input to be a precise parry. The sources do not provide a verified numeric timing window.
What Parry changes
The Infinite Seal is described as a Parry Seal. A correctly timed parry is reported to break enemies more efficiently than Guard, but the tradeoff is greater risk: the timing guide characterizes it as a committed parry without the ordinary guard fallback. If the timing is wrong, you should not assume that the action will still block the hit.

Learn the attack with Guard first, then try Parry once you can recognize its cue. The reported advantage is a more efficient Break result when the parry is successful, not a guaranteed reward for attempting it.
How Harden and Vatra’s Seal are described
With Vatra’s Seal, Harden is the defensive action. The Seal reference says Harden withstands the next attack, while a correctly timed Perfect Harden deals Break Damage. A timing guide additionally reports that Perfect Harden refreshes the meter immediately. That refresh detail is guide-reported, not verified by official Seal documentation in the available material.

Harden is therefore the relevant choice if you prefer to answer an incoming attack with that action rather than rely on Guard’s blocking or Parry’s committed timing. The sources do not establish a numeric window or broader rules for how Harden behaves beyond the described next-attack interaction.
What is known about the Gloomslayer Seal?
The available index associates the Slayer Seal with the name Gloomslayer, but the opened source material does not explain its effect. Choose by fallback safety, timing, and Break pressure
- Choose Guard while learning an attack or when you want the reported possibility that an early input still blocks.
- Try Parry when you can read the cue and accept losing ordinary guard fallback in exchange for the reported more efficient Break result on a correct parry.
- Use Harden if Harden is the response you want to practice; the guides report Break Damage on a Perfect Harden and an immediate meter refresh, with the refresh claim remaining guide-reported.
- Do not choose Gloomslayer on assumed mechanics. Its effect is not established by the available source trail.
