Get it from Gorf near Widow’s Overlook, take it to Hilga’s camp east of Mushroom Village Beacon, then rest, read Hilga’s note after she leaves, and return to Gorf to continue the cure quest.
Where to find the Poisoned Dagger
Start with Gorf in the marsh near Widow’s Overlook. One walkthrough places him in the eastern marsh north of the overlook; other guides describe him more broadly as being near Widow’s Overlook. Talk to him and follow the request currently shown in his dialogue.

Advance Gorf’s requests
Gorf’s request chain can involve bringing him Weltcap and Common Moonshine. Guides differ on the number and order of items needed before he gives you the Poisoned Dagger, and prior quest progress may change how much of the sequence remains. Treat Gorf’s current request and dialogue as the gate rather than expecting a fixed item count.
If his dialogue or quest state does not advance after you provide a requested item, rest at a Beacon and return to speak with him again. The dagger appears after the request-and-dialogue sequence as Gorf’s condition worsens.

What the Poisoned Dagger is used for
The Poisoned Dagger is a clue in the cure quest, not a combat weapon. It is separate from the game’s Axe and Dagger weapon. Do not look for an equip prompt or expect to use the Poisoned Dagger to poison enemies.
Its item description says: “Only a knowledgeable inhabitant of these lands will know how to concoct a cure.” That points you toward an NPC who can interpret it: Hilga.

Where to take the dagger
Take the Poisoned Dagger to Hilga at her fenced camp east of Mushroom Village Beacon. Look for her near a table and cauldron, then use the available interaction to hand over the item.

What to do after giving it to Hilga
- After handing Hilga the Poisoned Dagger, rest at a Beacon.
- Return to Hilga’s camp. When she has left, read the note she leaves behind.
- Go back to Gorf and speak with him to continue the cure sequence.
The hand-in does not complete the cure immediately; it advances the quest to its next steps.

If the quest is not advancing
- Gorf has not given you the dagger: Complete the request he currently names, exhaust any new dialogue, then rest at a Beacon and return if needed.
- You are unsure which or how many items to bring: Follow Gorf’s displayed request. Walkthroughs report Weltcap and Common Moonshine, but the early sequence can differ with quest progress.
- Hilga is not at the camp: Confirm that you have handed her the dagger and rested at a Beacon; then return to the camp and check for her note.
- You have read Hilga’s note: Return to Gorf. The note is a transition to the next part of the cure quest, not the final step.
